I wonder if anyone would want to get away with it these days. I always thought Love Thy Neigbour was shite and that's nothing to do with any question of racism.

I agree. It appaling. The acting is poor, the script is trite and you can see the punchlines coming from miles away.

What was never quite clear to the Guardian readers was that the racism was two way and it was always the white bloke who ended up looking daft.

Agree the script was dire to say the least.

But it did show up racists for what they are , usually thick as the white man always lost.
