Premier League WAG opens her heart after Michael Chopra split

Weddings can be stressful affairs - and when she tied the knot with footballer Michael Chopra, Heather Swan admits their nerves were totally frayed.

The TV Wag reckons the mounting pressure leading up to the big day led to their break-up just three weeks later.

Heather, 24, said: "In the run-up to the ceremony we'd not only just had a baby but we'd moved house and Michael had changed club.

"People have difficulties in relationships - there was a lot of stress and the pressure got to us."

The former teenage sweethearts had been together for eight years but broke up after just three weeks of marriage.

Heather said: "It was almost as if we were having our seven-year itch."

She was speaking for the first time since £20,000-a-week Premier League striker Michael checked into rehab in the wake of a furious row with her, during which police were called.

At the time, the pair stated their marriage was over but Heather now insists they are working things out.

She said: "We're a strong couple and we're just going through a bit of a difficult patch."

The Mirror revealed how the two started bickering within hours of tying the knot at a £250,000 ceremony in Somerset on Friday the 13th of June.

The flare-ups continued and they cut short their Caribbean honeymoon and went home separately to Newcastle.

Of course he chooses to highlight the shortcomings of a player of Indian parentage... the evidence mounts.

The fact Chopra was apparently caught balls-deep in a bridesmaid on his wedding day may not have helped his marriage set-out on a good footing. Or so the story goes... bbolt

"On Thursday 28 August 2008, it was announced that he had checked into a rehab, in an attempt to overcome his rambling addiction."

I reckon me mam's got one of them. She does about 15 miles every Sunday with the Expamet walkers.
