I've just watched half of the beach volleyball highlights I taped - the Junior World Championships from Brighton in September.

Volleyball England's website suggested "a 2,000 seater stadium, live music, dancers, scoreboards etc".

What actually happeend was that the main stand was compeletely empty for most of the tournament ecxept for literally one man and his dog, the weather was persistantly poor, no atmosphere was generated by the crowd, the spectators were all wearing coats and in some cases winter duts, and the young athletic, toned girls were covered up in something that vaguely resembled an athletic swimsuit from neck to heel. Even for the two finals, the main stand was only filled to the first five rows.

From now on I have decided to recycle as much as I can. I feel that I can't be responsible for contributing to global climate systems changing so much that this country's weather affects what to all intents and purposes should have been a really good event that I might have gone to Brighton to watch.

Beach volleyball is...swelterling locations and girls in skimpy beachwear, none of which did I see at Brighton.

If it was that bad in Brighton, I wonder how bad it could have been or could be in the future if maybe they were to choose to host one of these events at Seaton Carew.

Kent.. I experienced to balmy delights of Dungeness last week.... I was up on the sea wall near Rye when I noticed that the sea was higher than the land behind it.... a group of what appeared to be surveyors where working on the sea wall over the course of time people passed by, when a bearded lentil muncher and his sun dried 'parner' appeared in their hiking gear and proceeded to lecture the indifferent surveyors about the perils of global warming and how they were wasting their time ... rant complete they marched off into the distance...the surveyors laughrd after their departure... the walls had been their 800 years. there's an awful lot of money, jobs and resources tied up in 'climate change' ...whay other industry promises a life time career with an end product you'll never be able to prove.

They had to import sand in to create the beach for the court.

But we can't exactly say that this summer in Britain has brilliant either - it was literally like that all August, probably worse up North as well.

And I can't believe that Sarah Palin, the US Republican VP Candidate, believes this whole thing of global warming is natural !

With all due respect to the Honourable Gentleman, after living in Gillingham all my life, it did feel like it on Boxing Day last year.

Eehhh, I'm fookin' melting here......here in the home of Global Pollution it's half midnight, 81F (light fog) and we're looking at 93F tomorrow. It's topped 100F twice this week already. It'd melt your wellies if you all moved here. Incidentally Mr Kent, the recycling rate is 97% in this city. Forget it, it ruins your marguaritas.

We've got our own version of the Essex Girl, Chatham (Chavs) Girls, here.

I tell you they ain't half loose when they want to be some can be good looking, the others just walk around in groups down Chatham High Street

I think we have one of the highest rates of teenage preganancy in the UK and Europe.

theres no such thing as climate change in a scaremongering sense, all the earths temperature changes are linked to sunspot activity, the research thats out there points towards it

Never had the opportunity to try it because of the weather. It's a serious Olympic sport, mind the only reason why there was a lot of men gathered up against the wall of Margate seafront looking towards the beach was because there were women's matches on. clappp

Some were taking pictures - including me.

Well, believe it or not once you know something like this is being hosted at this time, you know that it's SUPPOSED to be summer.

Obviously, somebody had other ideas towards the weather.
