...I was in the back garden and I heard a weird squawking noise. I looked up and saw what I first thought was a pterodactyl being chased by a crow round me house. On closer inspection it turned out to be a bloody big heron. After a couple of laps they both buggered off in the direction of the Trent.

The crow must have been hard as feck, the heron was about 4 times its size, and had a beak like a spear. And heron shit is supposed to really ming.

A man went swimming on Galveston Island, he left his watch with his shoes. A bird ate his watch and flew away, he chased it into a large flock of birds. Grabbing a rock, he started towards the flock. When a cop stopped him, he stated "One of those birds ate my watch, I'm leaving no tern unstoned until I find it" :uhoh:

I think I remember reading about that on BBC news site. Did he ever get the watch back?

One of my cats 'Ellwood' has a little game he plays with birds, catches them when outside then crawls halfway through the catflap before reasing the bird into the conservatory to give it a sporting chance. Then chases the fooking thing round like a tazmanian devil til he or I get to it/him first.
Tis great fun

Well all I can say is I hope he never brings a heron in.

My sister's cat used to bring things in every day - mice, voles, frogs, toads, birds of all descriptions. The most unusual was a small bat. They would usually defecate everywhere as well before he killed them.

Biggest hes managed was a pigeon, I think it took the two of them ( :coool: Jake and Ellwood :coool: ) to make sure the fooking thing was plucked clean and the feathers scattered around in an attempt to cover every bit of surface throughouit the ground floor of the house and then to hide bits of internal bodily parts in precise places which seem to be a magnet for bare feet.

I like those herons they sell in Holland, marinated in salt water with onions. Yum yum.
Rollmops are quite nice too if you get the authentic Scandinavian ones.
