Overmatched I'm afraid. Apparently one of his new 'defensive' trainers recommended Prescott, although I'm surprised the fat, scouse, corrupt, turncoat, croquet playing ex ships steward, Old Labour, New Labour, who's paying the rent, I'll back 'em anyway, twat could down a 22 year old strong fit lad like Khan....

Particularly when he hadn't fought since that Welsh kid the police held while he smacked him for throwing an egg and got away with it.

Nice one Prezza....

Because he is a bland pre packed hyped up boxer that will fight no hopers cream in the money then when it comes down to doing the business he will fold as was proved on Saturday night.

I hated Hamed with a passion purely because of his mindblowing arrogance. Khan seems to have gone to the same school although he's not yet as highly qualified.

haway man, the prince was class. it was all done for the sake of selling tickets, something he was incredibly good at, although he was also a superb boxer.

ive seen him interviewed twice on friday night fight night in the last 12 months, and you couldnt wish for a more down to earth, funny, and thoroughly likeable bloke. indeed they spoke to about half a dozen boxers from the same gym in sheffield and they all said to a man what a completely sound bloke he was.

thats the way boxing is these days, and has been since the days of the prince, nigel benn, chris eubanks etc. and indeed as far back as ali.

folk want to see showmen, they want to see big build ups, they want fighters who can talk the talk .

at the end of the day you have to have incredible self belief/arrogance to box at the highest level. these guys are not playing tiddlewinks ffs. they have to believe that they cannot be beaten, or at least convey the impression that they believe that they cannot be beaten.

do u seriously think any top boxer is going to say in the build up " im going to give it a go, but in all honesty i have little faith in my ability, the other fella is harder than me, and in all probability im gonna get the shiit kicked out of me ?"

as salty points out, would any of these ricky hatton fans hate khan so much if he was white and from hartlepool ?
Why do you always bring colour into it.

I was sad to hear Khan lost his first pro fight on Saturday. He's a good honest kid, rare in boxing. You could see he was ready to go down as he quivered from his opponent's punch.

He's got the character to come back from this so Khan shouldn't be too dismayed.

Hate leads to fear & fear leads to the dark side.

I dont hate Naseem Hamed, but since his loss to Barrera I have lost all respect for him.
I was a fan,as Chip says the arrogance was all showmanship & part of the modern game, but his fights were almost always exciting,he didnt duck anyone & was a good champion.
There was no shame in losing to Barrera, but Hamed went into hiding for 13 months, then commanded box office status for a boring points win agains a Spanish who was hardly a European title contender never mind world class. Why he never fought again after that I dont know, but He had the opportunity to be in there regularly amongst the elite such as Morales Barrera etc & backed away at the first sign of doubt.
Add to that He left someone crippled & ran away, the guy is a coward who thinks Hes above the law.

Amir Khan needs his arse smackin to teach him that He is not above the law & fame doesnt entitle him to treat the countrys roads like his own playground, but lets face it,how many young kids his age wouldnt be doing the same if they had his money.
His boxing career is crazy through no fault of his own,its the media & the promoters that have put him in such a prominent position before his time. His re-match with Kindelan after the olympics was a farce,it stood out a mile that Kindelan had thrown it & Khan was put on his arse earlier that night by a scouse kid too.
I seen a profile on Prescott a few weeks ago & thought that Khan was about to meet his match, but he hasnt been battered around the ring for 12 rounds,he got knocked out quickly, his body can recover from that in no time at all,now we'll see if his ego can.

The same thing happened with Audrey Harrison, thought an olympic gold guaranteed him a world title & that he knew better than everybody else. The guy is now possibly the least respected gold medallist of all time.
