Lacklustre and grim! Crucially no balance in the team.
Poor passing, zero passion from at least 2 players and general incompetence from most.
First goal a wide open barn door of a defence with Collins and Richie absent!
Second goal Richie again failed in a tackle a few seconds before the goal but rest of defence were leaden footed and no one reacted.

ALB 6 OK
Sweeney 4 Tried hard but poor crossing and distribution
Nelson 5 limped off at half time
Collins 7 MoM
Richie 5 OK on the ball but beaten for pace by right winger

Monkhouse 4 No real desire our only tactic appeared kick it to his head
McCunnie 4 Tried to play in first half then deteriorated badly
Liddle 5.5 Did OK
Matty 4 Nothing worked for him

Brown 4.5 should have scored after the break other than one good run and turn in first half did little
Porter 3 Typical Railway Porter - and as mobile as one no turn, give and go, and poor flicks
Sub
Power 5 Tried hard, no sprint in him and sideways passer, but can show composure on the ball worth developing.
Axel Foley 3 Did he touch it?
Barker 3 Hardly had a touch

Wilson 5 not as bad as the players as he was angry in throwing the ball back to Richie in first half provoking a reaction from the 'less than bright home crowd' but Sweeney’s distribution is bad at right back but most likely Wilson does not rate him as a midfielder, alternatively McCunnie who has composure did not impose himself in the centre of the park. Monky on the right .....ummmm !

He may have to bring back Barker with Brown wide right and Monky wide left and either Porter of Mackay alongside him upfront. The team needs balance!

A very poor performance against a team that a few seasons ago we'd have blown away, but it just shows how we all see the game differently because I thought that Monkhouse worked his arse off and covered loads of ground but he was let down by others who didn't capitalise on the fruits of his efforts.

I thought that Millwall, who ultimately deserved their win, were there for the taking so I'd say that the manager has to take some responsibility for what did not look like a happy bunch of players.

Like I said we all see it differently and I may well be talking nonsense (wouldn't be the first or last time).

Pace puts the fear of god into most defence so here's my thought sctatchinghead

Monkhouse left porter and makay up top and Brown right pace through out non stop attack.

Ok Brown on the right might not sound good but he's got the skill and class to beat anyone and makay has the pace to take the p@ss and knows where the net is.

Porter is porter and will score.

Monkhouse will create chances and get good balls in.

Of course just my view so don't shoot me down therethere

PS......

Last week some chaps said we got hammerd at P/boro but if you think like me banghead banghead

Nelson and Collins plus ALB all gonig for MOM clappp Thats what they get paid for.

Barker and Monkhouse scored thats what they get paid for clappp

If we let goals in people would moan about our back four  if we didn't score people would moan about us not scoring banghead

What happens we score 2 and our defence hold strong and people say we got hammered and were lucky sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

Interesting idea from united here of ...........

Brown & Monky wide

Porter and Mackay - Joel has to do better than yesterday.

This is worth a go - but as you know managers when it gets tough tend to revert to what they know and experience so that probably means Barker returning.

Ironically my lad had to be strongly persuaded to go yesterday even he was shaking his head at the performance of Porter and Monky.

Well if we keeping playing this long ball system we need barker on because brown, porter and mackay are never going to outjump a 6 foot odd defender

Also our last 3 away games brown and porter were never in the game and i thought Barker did ok against leicester the other night

I think the next couple of away games we should try barker and porter upfront, and monkey left and brown right,
Then when at the vic go with porter and brown upfront

cant believe folk are writing porter and brown off as a front pairing already.

Not exactly writing them off as a front pairing yet chip BUT is it working,it did not yesterday.

This pairing has scored two league goals between them so far and these came from opening game, after five games now and more scores on the board was expected from them.

This is just my own opinion, away from home Browny should play out right and use Barkers physical strength to our advantage.

Game plan did not work yesterday and it is the manager who picks the team, unless like the skunks our director of football/sport has too much say in the matter.

Mr Chipfireball, don't you ever give up hiding behind statistics sctatchinghead
Now i know not everone can get to all games and that makes them no less of a supporter blah blah blah, but the fact is that a 2 goal defecit to a team as poor as Millwall was not impossible, and going behind to a team as poor as Tranmere was also not impossible, the simple reason we didn't come back in either game was down to Brown and Porter missing simple chances in front of goal, the type of chance Barker would knock in only for people to say "anyone can knock them in"
Everyone should be knackered towards the end of a game, unfortunately some of those playing regularly this season haven't been rage
We lost yesterday because of the positions the team were asked to play and that made everyone have a poor game, which led to arguing, finger pointing heads dropping and lack of discipline.
As bad as we played we still had the chances to get something from the game but we didn't take them, and that's a fact not a statistic  l

I agree with the point about Barker, that goal against Peterborough was a real poachers goal... i couldn't see Joel or Browney scoring from that situation... but i still wouldn't start with him

Sorry Mr Chipfireball, I thought the above highlighted sentence was fairly self explanatory as to who I thought was to blame sctatchinghead
