The best night for a match at Grays against us would be a Thursday as we play on a Monday, some of our lads play for another team on a Tuesday and we train on a Wednesday.

Are you booking the pitch or do you want me to do it? It's about £50 i think, so £25 a team (obviously)

Thusday the 25th would better for us like. It would give plenty of notice for our lads and yours i suppose.

I'll get the money off our lads at our league game next Monday and book it on Tuesday.

Genuine reasons for last couple of weeks seeing as though I was in Spain last week.

Giving tonight a miss to try and cure nagging little calf strain that rest has been helping to clear up so hopefully back to full (well full for me) fitness next week.

Plus Sunderland are on Sky tonight and I'm gonna settle down with a box of Super Bock to watch it

I wouldn't mind an invite for the 25th!

People clearly aren't arsed anymore, I wasted 45 minutes of my night tonight going over there as we thought we had enough. The pitch also could cost me 22 quid 50. If I get charged for it, which I think I will then I'll be pretty pissed off as its money I don't have and I can't see people stumping up money for a game they had no intention of going to.

Everyone has commitments, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends (!), kids, jobs etc and 5 aside isn't everyone's top priority and obviously I understand that but all I would ask is that you declare your availability by 12 the day before. It takes 5 seconds. If you're doubtful, say you're doubtful- surely it's just courtesy?

With injuries we are going to struggle to get half a dozen for a few weeks so if you want to make it the Bunker vs your mates the weekly game then that gets my vote.

well if you want to play 9 vs 3 or 4 it will be into the blue vs the bunker. :roll:

put it this way mr 3 quid it wont be the debacle it was last time with us trying to give 15 different lads a run out a lot of who had never played on astro before.

at the same time im not gonna turn up with 8 lads that play premier league on a sunday morning. tho i can if you want me to. :wink:

it will be 6 or 7 lads from the bunker plus 2 or 3 of my mates from work. jason henderson who plays for mulgrave might be playing but he would be the only sunday premier league player.

so you would still be ahead of us on that score. :wink:

and we will have at least 3 over 40's playing.

we will deffo give you a game this time tho.

To be fair chip, your lads gave us a very decent game last time. Forget the scoreline, it was closer than that. Or are you saying the players you played on that day weren't good enough?

Will you be playing many of the same players you seem to have little faith in? Are you bringing in new faces to combat your fears?

Mr Fireball, I understand what you are saying, but maybe it is bollox? :wink:

I book and pay for a pitch every Monday night with a group of mates and I sometimes end up chasing around trying to get numbers so I know what you mean about that, including some of the lads working shifts and missing some weeks. But it's always worse over the summer with people being on holiday and stuff and generally gets better from September again.

Until the last couple of weeks I'd not missed a single week, but even these last few weeks I've told you early doors that I can't make it. As of next week I'll be there every week again (barring injury).

I can't comment for Mr Ptbap, Mr Chunky, Mr Groovy or Mr Elvis.

The 11 a side game I was on my hols so have no idea who may have turned up, I just know that I wasn't one who said that they would be there.

none of the above play local league football 3-4 play for the blue on a monday night in the out door league.
I'm the best player out of all of them so theres the bench mark and its a game of footie between pools fans lighten up everyone.

Ripper, I certainly don't blame you for any of the recent fuck ups and you have stated early quite often when you can't make it. I never once considered you'd lost interest but there is no doubt that people definitely have and last night proved that.

The thing that has annoyed me is people who don't commit either way so we're left hanging on to find out whether we have enough, by the point we realise we haven't got enough it is too late to bring in replacements and its either resulted in too few players or abandonments

The week after next I can't play but will book the pitch if needed.
