I agree Fens. I very nearly didn't go last night because I am well and truly skint. Changed my mind late on and borrowed the money. Glad I did mind, but it's a very expensive hobby!

When i was 19 i used to go all over the country watching pools, i was a student with all the disposable income in the world, or so i felt, no responsibilities, no nowt, went everywhere!

now, 5 years down the line, a broken condom later, shattered education dreams, an ex who pillages every pennny i have, a flat in a nice area, bills to pay etc etc

My digs were at the tagger on's who only turn up for the "BIG" games or when they can be bothered. Yet those same people will be first in line should we draw Man U away or someone "BIGGER" than WBA and people who regularly go (first 3 home games) wont ba able to get a ticket.

I wasnt there last night, nowt really to do with money but more with transport problems, working early shifts and recently purchasing PoolsWorld... but if it had been one of the big teams say Man Utd for example, I doubt I would have missed it.

If we had played a bigger team last night I still wouldn't have been there as I was at work and couldn't get the day off. Now if we draw a bigger team at home in the next round I will be there as i am on nights that week and don't have to leave for work until 10:15pm, the same goes for if we draw a so called smaller team

Work is now becoming a problem for me...I work alternate weekends and on the weeks I was working I could use lieu time to finish early... now they've changed the system so that the lieu time has dried up...result is, that for the first time in years, many years, I can only get to the match if I'm off .
How ironic that the people who create these new efficient systems work Monday to Friday.

spot on Snowy!!! The one game I deliberately didn't attend in 1990 was Spurs at home!!!
I went to the away match, bought a ticket for the home game but decided against going because of all the termites who would be in attendance. The Rochdale game at home previous to that, did my head in with people all wanting vouchers for the Spurs game.
None of this lot turned up before or after, well not until the Northampton match.

People jumping on the bandwagon is a natural reaction. I mean just look at the 40,000 plus who followed Sheff Wed to Cardiff when they were pitted against a big club!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never went to Sunderland for that very reason ... I ended up wiring in some lights for the afternoon....THEN YOU HAD ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ATTEND THE HIGH PROFILE GAMES ADDING THEM TO THEIR MEAGRE LIST...I'd rather talk to the sort of people who turned up on a freezing cold night against Exeter.
