Well done lads. Was magnificent! What effort and commitment from everyone. Was a joy to watch. Shame the ref was another grade A wanker.

ALB: 2. Sorry but he is awful. Couldnt keep hold of the ball, dropping simple catches over his head, awful positioning especially for free kick and constantly letting crosses just fly into our 6 yard box and he is nowhere to be seen, when he does decide to come he either misses or gets nowhere near it.

Mccunnie: 7.5. Thought he did well, passing not great but was nice and relaxed in possession.

Humps: 7.5. Did well again, some great tackles and passes.

Collins: 10. Nothing more needs to be said.

Nelson: 8.5. Looks to have left lats seasons form behind.

Jones: 8. Better in central midfield, gonna break some legs mind if he keeps "tackling" like that but did well.

Liddle: 8.5. Started poor but became immense as the game went on. Didnt seem to tire at all.

Monkhouse: 7. Didnt think things really worked out for him tonight.

Sweeney: 7.5. Nice having him further forward.

Porter: 8.5. Good run for goal and played well, tracked back well at times too.

Brown: 8.5. Class act as always.

Robson: 9. Brilliant. Tracked Mcdonald everywhere he went and looked dangerous going forward. Good work for Barkers goal and got some good crunching tackles in when needed. Well done Matty!

Foley: 8. Well done David! Got his goal and actually ran at people and scared them shitless. Should have had a penalty also.

Barker: 8. Held it up, chased them down, won the ball a few times and hassled them like mad. Got a goal too. What more did we want?

Wilson: 10. 3 brilliant substitutions.

Agree that ALB is a pile of poo. I would not have gave Matty a 9 though!! I could not beleive Porter got MOTM. Collins was immense.

Dont be so fookin soft! He had a busy night and made a few saves. He also made a good number of clangers. Off his line for the goal, let 2 shots in the centre of the goal hit his own bar, fluffed numerous crosses, failed to come off his line on many occasions when the ball was only a few yards from the by-line, just about scored an own goal, dropped numerous shots. The shots he did save were right at his feet ffs. All he had to do was stand there and he still managed to spill a good number of them. In all honesty I would give him a 4. Dodgy with a capital D.

If you are seriously happy with that goalkeeping performance you must have been creaming your pants when we had Dimi. rolfl

But what about the cross which he threw over his head with no one near him? Or the 5 or 6 times he fumbled easy takes? The time he dropped it at his feet and Nelson just managed to clear? The 3 crosses which flew in about 3 yards out with him nowhere? The punch he came for and got nowhere near? The free kick which hit the middle of the bar and he got nowhere near it? The cross the just dipped over the bar when he was in no mans land? Every save he made was pretty much straight at him and any keeper would have saved.

I think the rating of 2 for ALB is a tad harsh but to suggest he had a good game is a tad on the optomistic side. I just don't see this fantastic improvement that people are talking about, he seems un composed when making simple saves. I haven't seen him make a save yet that I would consider to be outstanding. i'm over the moon we won though and i thought Matty played really well. Same again Saturday please........

The keeper done enough conceded one goal 2 keepers would not have saved that as for fumbles ect being picky i think. I dont rate him on crosses but i think he is the most improved player from last season.
Allan Barret 7
Mcunnie 7
Humphreys 7
Nelson 8
Collins 10
Sweeney 7
Monkhouse 6
Jones 9
Liddle 8
Porter 7
Brown 7
Foley 7
Robson7
Barker 7

banghead How has he improved????? banghead

So we cant mention the next time he fumbles a ball and they score as that would just be picky? sctatchinghead How many did he give away pre season by not being able to hold a ball? Only a matter of time till it costs us.

I just feel the need to add that if collins had a turn of pace, or a 10 yard burst of pace, he would be absolutely immense! im not worried about crosses goin in to the box if he or nelson is stood ther waiting to head it away, just if sumone gets running at him or turns him, he doesnt seem able to get back at them. Saying that, cracking perdormance out there tonite guys, very well done.

Pre season ! Who gives a fuck ? From what ive seen he's cost us one goal this season against Colchester when he stayed on his line i blame him for that apart from that he's not conceded any goals that are at fault (what I have seen)

Yes we did, neither player could move. Their goal had nothing to do with the substitutions IMO and would have happened if we'd had Foley and Barker upfront or Joel and Browny. I thought Wilson was right taking them off.

We had 14 Man of the Match's last night, we needed to have to beat a virtually full strength premiershit team.

Anybody slating ALB after last night is either retarded or fishing for a bite.

ALB was dodgy as hell. Fortunately the shots were straight at him (and then he still fumbled most of them) The saves he made were ones involving him coming off his line to intercept through balls, I cant recall many 'saves' as such and he certainly didnt handle crosses well last night

I thought Nelson and Collins were awesome last night and Sweeney and Liddle hit every blade or grass. Not forgetting Porter and Brown who chased every lost clause. Overall a strong team performance and really Pools deserved to win in normal time as West Brom were poor and over confident from the start

I usually agree with you ADG but that is a load of bollocks you just written. Brown was dead on his feet and couldnt run anymore and Monkhouse was a waste of space. Even more bollocks are the comments about ALB.

I missed this thread earlier :uhoh:

You honestly thought Jones was poor!?

I thought he was man of the match. He was outstanding, he broke up play so often and used the ball well.

chip, I know West Brom were poor but I don't think you are giving us enough credit we worked our bollocks off and didn't stop for 120 minutes. We were in there face and eventually in the second half of extra time they just give up, that is the only spell of the game they showed poor body language and attitude but that was because of our performance not because they didn't care.

He was 'ok' but certainly not outstanding. Generally his distribution was a bit better than it has been but he drifted out the game in the second half imo
