Another bouth of bigclubitis has hit League One, nice to see he knows the difference between Hartlepool and Peterborough!

GARY SILKE COLUMN: WE HOPED FOR PISA BUT ENDED UP WITH THE POSH!

Another painful reminder of Leicester City's reduced circumstances came last Saturday morning when the draw for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy first round was made on Sky's football AM programme. Our ex-Premiership club were in the hat and were drawn away to Hartlepool United.

Local hospitals have yet to report any cases of Cup fever.

I have since been trying to find out exactly what the Johnstone's Paint Trophy is for.

Typical I just emailed him with the following , dont expect a reply.

You may have hoped for PISA you certainly didn't get the POSH. Hartlepool are the monkey hangers'. For your information the POSH are Peterborough. And we are 177 miles north and on the North East coast.Nearest places you may have heard of include Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Sunderland all teams in the premier league. Please get facts right, and stop adopting the we were once in the premier league attitude. Your now a league 1 team at least for this season. I would like a reply to this but dont expect one. *** ***** Hartlepool not Peterborough

Leicester city are as much an ex premiership club as Barnsley and Bradford City. Does anybody, outside of Leicester, believe that they will return to the Premiership for any length of time. I wouldn't hold my breath.
Looks like the Mail don't have the monopoly on talking rubbish.

Headline of this news story has now been changed to....

"GARY SILKE COLUMN: DO WE REALLY NEED ALL THESE CUPS? "

It's clear: there can't be much room left in the Lecicester Trophy cabinet for many more.

teams like Leicester are belittled by wankers who support the likes of Man Utd, but for some perverse reason that means they think it gives them licence to do likewise towards traditional lower league clubs like Pools and Peterborough. We should be used to these cocks by now.

Have to give them some credit here, as I previously stated i had emailed them with regards to the article.I received this reply today. Doubt I would have got anything back from the Mail. Here's there reply to my email.

Thank you for your email.
Only a part of the column is on the website.
Later in the article, Gary talks about the Anglo-Italian League in which Leicester City were drawn away at the likes of Peterborough rather than a glamorous Italian club.
I agree that the headline on the website section of the story does not reflect this. We have now changed it.
Apologies for the confusion.
Tim Murray (Leicester Mercury)

Phrases like the one above don't really help his cause though do they. At what point does a club stop being "the likes of" and start being a club in its own right?
