The politically correct brigade have decided that the terms "Great British Summer" or "typical English weather" can no longer be used.

As of next summer it is to be called "Muslim Weather" Partly Sunni but mostly Shi'ite.

No knocks on the door of our house either, we have a wreath on ours every year, and will continue to do so.

Yes you can Mr Chin. And I promise you that the only people you possibly risk upsetting would be some well-meaning but hopelessly dim, liberal, white, pen-pushing councillors. I doubt that many, if any, of the people they would claim to be speaking on behalf of really give a shite about a Christmas wreath.

Well said John
Too many do-gooders being offended on somebody elses behalf & creating (unjustified) resentment against those they claim to be standing up for.

I think a lot of these rumours about things offending Muslims are started by lazy shit-stirring journalists. Although it has to be said there are plenty of twatts out there who jump on the 'its offending somebody' bandwagon to further their own ends.

A few years ago I was responsible for the monthly customer newsletter at the place I worked. It was generally very boring, giving sales figures and performance results and so on, but I managed to sneak in lots of subversive stuff as well (my favourite being a photo of a colleague's pet rabbit shafting a teddy bear). My boss at the time was a talentless no-mark of the highest order, who used any excuse possible to try and keep people down.

One of the articles for the newsletter I did involved listing all the customers we had with really long names that were hard to pronounce - 'Balasubramanian' for example.

The idea was to poke fun at our customer service staff, who often found it difficult to reel off these names accurately when a customer rang up. By their nature, these names were not Anglo-Saxon, and were mostly African or Asian in origin.
According to my boss, writing this article this meant I was racist, and I had better not produce anything of this nature in future or I would be facing disciplinary action!

I am still up for going for MP especially when I saw how much the salary is !! What you see is what you get with me. If people don't like that then they don't have to vote for me.

I reckon there is a lot of mild racial undertones and tension in this town and if you are honest you will acknowledge it.

How many times have you heard.....

"I'm not a racist ....BUT......" or perhaps ... " If you were bloody Polish you'd get everything......." I'd get this all the time on doorsteps of this town and others when doorknocking for my job but maybe you can tell me what can be said or done before it's classed as racism??
