So what the farking hell were the smart bomb attacks on his palaces all about then ? Was it simply an attempt to remove a particularly unpleasant looking statue from the gardens ? Sorry, I thought they were maybe, just maybe trying to kill him.

I happen to agree that he should not be hanged, two wrongs do not make a right and all that. But this from B'liar is hypocrisy in the extreme.

the ones who promote the stoning to death of homosexuals (and all sorts of other violent bigotry) are the only non-hypocritical christians, as far as I can see.

the Balkans, the Middle East, Africa and a few other places have experienced/are still experiencing ethnic genocide in very recent times. It is unbelievable that such things are still happening in the modern world, where exchange of information between large numbers of people over a very quick period of time is possible. Unfortunately the content and control of the information is the problem - if good information was used to educate EVERYBODY and remove ignorance and suspicion of people in other countries, then folks would be less tempted to wipe each other out. By the very fact of an individual wanting to be their country's leader says a lot about their nature to me, seeing as how anybody that ambitious is not going to want to let go of their position lightly once they get there. So any means necessary is seen as justifying the end result, which is to hold on to their power base. It will still take many years to come before all people everywhere have the same access to information which allows the common folks everywhere to make judgements for themselves, based on all of the knowledge available to them. We take for granted having such access to all sides of the story, a lot of the people in the world don't even know it exists so they are force-fed a load of $hit by the likes of Saddam, Gadaffi, Castro etc (some might say Blair and Bush also, but at least we have political opposition to provide an alternative viewpoint with which to make up our minds).

Love the way this has changed from the original post about Blair.

By the way I must say er-indoors has become very religious lately as she keeps shouting "OH MY GOD" during our 30 second bish bash. :uhoh:

Wonder why we turn to God at that crucial moment and not shout something like "KEN DODD". stupid

Once saw Lenny Henry do a sketch about this and was well funny. clap
