It wasn't antwi that was the problem.. it was the other 9 that threw their bodies in front of everything we threw at them. Only Liddle cocked up with a one on one with the keeper that even foley... could have scored.

this is my one concern about having Liddle in centre mid instead of Sweeney. Sweeney will tuck these chances away, Liddle consistently misses them. Liddle can not finish off the chances he gets. He missed a sitter against Colchester at 0-0, he isn't composed enough in the goalscoring positions like Sweeney is.
This is another area which could cost us points - precious few goals from centre mid with Boland and Liddle. Sweeney is another goalscoring outlet, and that is a far more difficult commodity to find than a right back in my opinion, and far more important.

And the answer is NO. Sweeney is rubbish in the centre of midfield, and thankfully that has finally been noticed. Sweeney however is doing a good job at right back, well he has in all the games that I've seen anyway.

I wasn't at Birkenhead yesterday but when I finally got Pools World to work it sounded like we played reasonably and had chances. No matter who plays where we will always miss chances. On central midfield places i would keep things as they are for now, but Power and the youth team lad whose name escapes me would get a game there before Sweeney if it was up to me.

How on earth does that statement mean im on a wind up?

1) We were awful away from home last season
2) Antwi was shit for us
3) He has been at fault for around 3 goals for Tranmere already and their fans think he is dreadful
4) We failed to score despite being the better side

Now please explain how you think it has anything to do with a wind up? Unless you saw my name and just expected it to be a wind up?

Words fail me sometimes.

No, on this game and the last 20 or so last season which all followed the same pattern.

It is very annoying when people say this and that about thew team and they were not even at the game. The performance was better than 90% away from home last season. We should have scored 2 but we created chances unlike some games last season...Huddersfield, Doncaster (1 shot all game), Bournmouth. The first half was better than the second but overall it was a dramatic improvment on last season. Also we do not look like conceding from every attack!

i wouldnt say 90%, i thought we were extreamly poor on saturday saying that we looked like brazil compared to how we played against doncaster last year. Id say this was just a typical away game following on from last season, hopefully it will stop here and we will get points at peterbrough and millwall

One recurring phrase associated with the half full fraternity of all clubs is ...'we should have'.... trouble is we never do and never have done, along side the ever popular ...'it's not fair'...fact is, you get nowt for your performance and everything for sticking the ball in the net. You can play shiit if you're winning and you've cracked if you can win and enetertain, but entertainment without reward soon asks awkward questions of everyone.

I was at Birkenhead on saturday, and after watching Jones on Saturday I wouldnt play him again until he gets hungry for it. Too often he did not look the slightest bit interested. 60/40 challenges in his favour he bottle out and trued to read where the ball was going to end up. He never got one right. I dont know whether its his mentality coming from Manure that he doesnt need to try because hes been at a BIG club. Well someone needs to give him a reality check and tell him what this league is all about.

Christ almighty!!! My point isnt that we played poorly but like last season all we hear is that we were the best team and "should" have won away from home.

I couldnt give two shits! We got beat again. Id rather play shit and win everytime. If were playing so good but getting beat then we have problems.

Your good at not reading posts correctly and not seeing the point, will fit in really well here.

nobody should withhold their opinions because they know others won't like it. That's undermining free speech.
Also if other people are too sensitive of criticism, then that's also asking for the knee jerk reaction that generally happens and the board descends into abuse.
There has to be a mixture of both, so people don't feel intimidated or wary of posting their opinions -within the guidelines as set down by the moderators on the sticky.
It seems that there's a war of words waiting to go off at times, and it should never be like that. I know for a fact that if the discussion was taking part in a pub, the points would be made and the parties would agree to disagree -and go to the match after having a pint feeling better that they had the chance to talk face to face.
In "message board world" it seems there's a siege mentality sometimes, and that's always a recipe for disaster regarding ongoing discussion of matters. People wait to pounce on their perceived message board "enemies" even though they don't know a thing about them in real life!!!
I find the best thing for these things to calm down are the message board meet ups. I've made a few good mates through the boards, people I know for a fact I wouldn't have met otherwise. It really is a good way to dispel some of the myths and preconceptions we all have about people we've never met, but with whom we've had some fireworks on the board!!!

Tree makes valid points a fair bit of the time, the problem is that there are too many thick buggers on this site who dont read/understand posts correctly.

As for being welcoming, Tree has every right to be irritated by people, especially bunker 'virgins' who dont read his posts properly and post a damning response. Tree may be the most pessimistic sod going but its not without ammunition usually provided by Pools incompetence or naive/thick folk on here.
