We had him on loan last season. He was pathetic, he just couldn't be bothered to play. I hope it's different for you if he does play for you eventually. I can't see it being different myself though.

He's recent stats are pretty poor

2007-2008 - 14 games, 1 goal
2006-2007 - 28 games, 4 goals
2005-2006 - 23 games, 4 goals
2004-2005 - 32 games, 4 goals

The thing is, an attacking player with a physical presence is always a valuable option to have in your side. Although I much prefer the way we play now with two quick forwards with lots of movement there are times when we will need to change things around. If we lost Richie Barker (and I hope we don't) then we should look for a replacement. I can see why Wilson is looking at Horsfield as that type of player is required in certain games.

It looks like a straight swap situation to me.

Barker for Horsfield.

Better then devil you know???

I'm not sure, Horsfield is a couple of years old, Barker is a proven scorer at this level, whether people like admitting that or not.

Horsfield has more experience of playing at a higher level than Barker, he could be another Gordon Watson.

It's a difficult one.

I don't think we'll ever find another Watson

I think that's the second time you've agreed with me this week, it's beginning to happen far too often.

Go and have a pie, you must be feeling under the weather!

Watson is a one-off for a club like Pools. He was a gamble because of his previous injuries, so the higher level clubs wouldn't take a punt on him. He was still Championship-class when he was at Pools, and it paid off for us.
He was only here a season and a half but we'll all rmember him for the rest of our lives - he was THAT good.
