I know that we have got a Premiershit team in the next round. The ticket prices have been announced at full price. Should the club have done this and would they have done this if we had pulled a league 2 team?

I for one hope the game does not get broadcast on Sky now as this will give us an low crowd again

With the gates receipts split, I don't think Pools can set any admission price they like, it has to be agreed between the two clubs.

But to be honest, you paid £18 to see Colchester. If that's the going rate for a league game, why should a cup game against premiershite opposition be any less?

I take your point but the chances are it will be Pools v WBA Reserves. So thats potentially a Pontins League (or suchlike) rather than a premier league team.

Don't know that until an hour before kick off though do we.

If Abion refuse to drop it to £13, what can Pools do? Nada.

Devil's advocate, personally I don't go with the argument that it should be cheaper. If Pools can't drag some money in when they play a premier league team in the cup then its time to give up.

One thing I'm always keen on though is a loyalty scheme. Two ideas for consideration.

Production of ticket stub from Scunthorpe game, £2 discount, perhaps a free pint.

Season ticket holders, production of stub A, £2 discount, perhaps a free pint, bring a child for free.

You've got to look after your most valuable assest, your loyal regular punters.

Its only the league cup ! how sad, especially from supporters of a club who have won nowt. How times haves changed from the night we played Villa in 74, probably the best atmosphere I have experienced at pools, 12300 in attendance. Full strength teams an all.

I'd like the club to go further with this one. I would like loyal fans to be rewarded for ALL of their attendances both home and away. Except for last year the three of us in our family spend on average £6k a season which is directly attributed to pools. granted most of that includes petrol, food etc and thus doesn't actually benefit pools directly but they do get our presence at away matches in some really god forsaken places.

what is it with the club with no availability of student tickets for cup games.....i do not understand how they can justify charging more to students....they reduced the prices for the scunthorpe game so every1 thort it was a good gesture but yet they made students pay extra...the club is pathetic at trying keep the supporters happy and i hope that they realise it could cost the club money in the long run

When I was a student there was no reduced rate, we had to pay full price for every game.

So think yourself lucky instead of whinging!

Totally agree there should be student consessions. How can you sell a student discounted season ticket yet not have this discount for cup matches. Students are not at uni or college at the moment and many probably working for minimum wage - yet the club expects them to fork out £18 !!! Again fans will vote with thier pockets and feet - walking away!!

Bit harsh.

It's just that there seems to be a massive amount of "oppinions" that say hufc have to "learn" things. They run a business and although they should look after their customers, I.E. us I doubt that many understand that we the paying punters are but a little part of the financing of the club. Corporate finance, inter business deals etc are more important than the fans..... sadly.

My son is at uni and yes he's working for £4.62 an hour and he is having to pay for a 12 month lease on a house that he will only really need from the end of september but has to pay now so that 8 of them can put £25k in a greedy landlords pocket this year. However he will be there in the town end supporting the team as he gets the train home each match week in week out.

For every one of those who "vote with their feet " there will be one more who come in to keep the status quo.

If I ever come to the conclusion that Pools value their corporate hospitality more than they do the fans, I will stop going immediately.

The game is dead without the fans, no matter how much revenue is brought in elsewhere.

And we dont have limitless deep pockets of cash.

Pools have to play that match v WBA no matter how many turn up. Surely they should be thinking of filling the ground, and ways they can do it.

At £18 a game they will never fill it. Especially with 2 games in a week.

I understand WBA might not agree to a price reduction......but Pools should publicise that. Who cares if it upsets WBA?

I mightilly agree ADG about valuing the fans but when did you feel that the club thinks about you ( generic fan) ?? If they did then they would consult with the fans, hold fans forums / question the manager etc. They would not treat negative coments as critisim and ban or severly castigate people for such misdemeanours. I got a letter of the secretary a few years ago telling me I was not a "real pools fan" if I dared to critisise the club. I Also got a rebuke in no certain terms by letter from the then safety manager about crowd segregation and steward behaviour.

For me.... and I bleed blue and white I feel that the club could improve a great deal if they talked to the fans rather than dictate from upon high but if you are able to put over the counter £25k for advertising or whatever ( not a real figure) then I feel that the club would listen to that sponsor much more than one on the terraces....

As for the deep pockets, tell me about it. Last season I had enough money for my months mortgage or 3 season tickets. The deadline day for the tickets came the same day as the mortgage payment and so I chose to buy the season tickets with my mortgage money... My wife went balistic....... only because I had thought about it,

My wife will be in agreeance with you as she says "why don't they do a special " for certain games in the season to get more people in but if you think back to the centenary gig, did they ask us if it was viable? The season ticket fiasco? get as much out of the loyal fan as possible then attract new season ticket holders with the £100 do dah?

Still it's off to tranny tomorrow ........
