Brighton or Hartlepool................... the media always choose Brighton.

In all seriousness its more of a potential upset so they may well plump for Pools..

Cheltenham V Stoke as well maybe, but they'll show a game on Tuesday and Wednesday so I reckon we have a good chance of being on the box. Coventry V Newcastle might be on as well I reckon, chance of a 'shock'.

Should be a cracking game West Brom play some great stuff and we like to get it down with our new look (and much asked for last season!) strike force.

You're probably right thinking about the Keane connection but as I said two games will be on. They'll probably save petrol money and go to Brighton

I looked at the games and seen it as a choice out of :-

Brighton vs Man City
Cheltenham vs Stoke
Hartlepool vs West Brom
Notts Forest vs Sunderland
Rotherham vs Wolves

There will be two games shown live....one on the tuesday and one on wed.....so two out of 5

Man City are in europe so they dnt play the same week as every1 else so tht leaves 2 from 4
Can't imagine they would put Rotherham on as even tho its a potential giant killin there is no premiership involvement so down to 2 out of 3
So as some people have said and i agree forest will b on with keanes return so leaves us n cheltenham to choose from....i would think there is more possibility of an upset in our game and also a more attractice proposition to sky...so hopefully we will be on live and get a good crowd and this can help the finances of the club.

Also a chance we could turn them over rolf

Forest always play their midweek games on a Wednesday.

Fair point but in the first round they put two games on; last night and tonight.

if it's on the box, there'll be more of an impetus on West Brom to put a stronger side out. I would rather they didn't, giving us a better chance of winning. Then we'd be even better candidates for a live game next round

Doesn't appear that we've been picked though,

http://www.hartlepoolunited.premiumtv.c ... 61,00.html

... and no price reductions for the tickets for this round.

bollock heads to a man. Anyway, more power to anyone who gets one of those starview boxes. Virgin media and sky deserve to be ripped off to the hilt.

Why do these TV companies think that the best ties in the cup are those featuring two premier league teams or recently premier league teams. Surely its about games like Hereford v Newcastle or the colchester v Leed.

It's a home game so why would anyone want us to be on the telly unless they live [insert large number here] miles away?
Surely we'll get a bigger gate if it isn't. sctatchinghead

Gawd, Sky are so sodding predictable aren't they.

Ooooh, we must show it because it's Keano, and like Keano used to play for Forest, so it'll be like dead good n tha' innit.

Yeah, cos Roy Keane has never been back to the City Ground since he left

Yes but what about the Pools / West Brom connection with John Trewick? sadx

Because it would save me having to pay 90 quid to watch it (5 times 18) no concessions for my 2 student sons.
