so what have you done about it??? Get onto vodaphone and complain, ring your bank and complain and lodge a complaint with the police. The latter will do no good but it is a theft even if it is refunded as an oversite.

Also make sure your anti virus / internet security provision is up to date as banks are now starting to refuse to refund moneys taken fraudulantly as you have not taken all adequate precautions.

So then the question remains....what have you done about it.

Been on to the bank, it took about 2 hours by the time i had to talk to someone in a call centre in India and was transferd all over the place

It is not the 1st time this has happend apparently, they are dealing with other cases, i have left it in the banks hands and when the thief is caught i expect them to be sentenced to no less than 6 years and whipped with a sock full of diarrhea every day just for there cheek

Don't leave it in the banks hands especially if they operate from Indian call centres.

Have you done a virus scan, a spybot check and updated all your security settings......
Change your passwords NOW for all accounts on internet banking etc and if they have your card details so it was a person not present transaction then you need to get the security number on the back and card number changed asap. You will find that these first few are test charges and as these have gone through you may well get hit for one of up to £1000.

One other question,
You have got security softwatre on your computer haven't you????

Go online and get a free credit reference check I think it's Experien or something like that and check that no one has applied for Visa card ect ect, I found that someone had applied for 2 new cards in my name and get accepted I get it stopped just in time.

That is a good idea to get your FIL round to check it out but to be honest ( and i'm saying this in a nice way) YOU should know what to do and how this works as it is your money at stake.

If you remember back about 6 weeks or so you will have recieved a new set of "terms and conditions" with your last statement. Only sado people like me read them but in there was a new clause that states that all online account holders need to "take control" of their computer systems to help prevent online fraud. Failure to do so can render the customer liable for the fraudulent transactions. Now to quantify that I don't know who you bank with and I don't want to know but 4 of my providers have included these new T&C in the last 6 weeks.

There are many free products out there such as zone alarms as a firewall, AVG do a good free Antivirus set up but I tend to buy my software and as such I have used panda security services http://www.virus-protection-2008.com/v2 ... QgoddlKFqg

is a very good one but I am looking at going over to sophos http://www.sophos.com/ when my current AVG 8.0 runs out in November.
Both of these will allow you to download a piece of software to check out your current AV and I did this with the Panda and it told me everything about the AVG I was using and then told me what was wrong with the way my AVG was set up. I'm just going to do the same now with sophos. Finally Steve Gibson http://www.grc.com/default.htm
has some good info on his site. Worth using som of his tools to check your computer or at least get the FIL to do it but watch what he does and then learn from there.
Do some searches on the net for phishing, trojan horses spyware etc and read up on it. Don't be scared but you wouldn't let some stranger walk up to you and take £50 out of your wallet in the street ( at least i hope you wouldn't) so why let them take the same out of your bank card??

As for the Indian call centres...... as soon as these banks et all see the sense and stop using the half baked call centres with impecible english but no common sense the sooner i'll have more freedom to use more companies in good old blighty.

Hope that helps.
