Totally agree, how many chances has he had?! But then Newcastle's "hard line" (guffaw) approach to dealing with the player was undermined by other premiership clubs looking to snap him up on similar wages if Newcastle sacked him. The whole thing says a lot about premiership clubs.

Though it seems like Gordon Taylor doesn't actually have much confidence that the player will learn his lesson, from the same quote, "....It's not been good but the lad does have ability and you keep hoping that he can put it behind him and move on. Whether that will happen, I don't know.".

if he was a man on the street, he'd not get such treatment. He definitely wouldn't be getting his job back, or any other job for that matter any time soon. There would have to be a rehab period to undergo first at the least.
