The official Bunker Pools prediction league.

Where do you reckon Pools will finish?

I've only voted for the target that we should be aiming for.

We should be looking for the best finish possible therefore we should compete to win League one or promotion automatically.

And I don't care whether people think that's too optimistic for my own good.

I voted for top ten but, as there are ten options in the top ten, 3rd to 6th would be very nice and 1st or 2nd would make me ecstatic.

I've gone top ten, though it wouldn't take *that* much to make it even better.
But by the same token, it wouldn't take that much either to make it bottom half.

P.S. is this post a candidate for "fence sitter of the year" or what?

If we get lucky with injuries & suspensions - a possible play-off spot. Realistically, the back-up is not quite enough, so I'd say 12th place.

I hope I am wrong, but if we get injuries to Porter and Brown.....we are foooked.

Our squad is paper thin. And the two regular keepers are just not good enough.

I'd love to get you and Poolie of Kent in the same room and see where the discussion went.

Mr Ultra Positive v Mr Ultra Negative.

I went for 11-16, I don't think we will go down but I don't think that we have the strength in depth to challenge for the top spots

I think 7-10 is the best we can hope for. But of course if we get that close, it would only take a few more points to edge into the play-offs. Being just a little more positive than Mr Head.

7-10th. It'll still count as mid-table obscurity as Leicester, Carlisle, Leeds and Scunny will probably pull away.

I've gone 11-16th. I can see us slightly improving on last year but nothing significant. Hopefully three or four signings in the right areas (Keeper, Full Backs, Striker) will see me more optimistic by the Colchester match.

I concur.

Although if we were to sign a pair of proper full backs and a forward / right winger before the start of the season I would be tempted to revise that prediction.

I've gone for 17th to 20th.I'm normally pretty positive but remember last year we had a few clubs
with points deductions giving us a head start.I'm struggling to find 4 sides who will be worse than us next
year, yeovil,hereford,cheltenham maybe?
obviously hope I'm wrong, its taken me this long to get used to finding us on page 325 on teletext.

I've gone for the dogfight unless Wilson has a major rethink of his tactical decision making, and signs a decent goalkeeper and a striker.

We live in hope confised

I think the defensive line-up needs to be decided on fairly quickly so they can settle. Trying out different formations up front to try and get a goal is one thing, but not being sorted out at the back means there's always the potential for going two goals down very quickly - as we saw far too often last season. This then puts enormous pressure on the forwards and attacking midfielders, last term they were up to the job as I don't think there can have been any other team amongst the 92 who successfully came back from 2 down as often as Pools did.
It's definitely not good for our tickers to go through that again, so if we sort out the back line I'll settle for being a dull as ditchwater team and keeping away from the bottom four.
Hoping for between 12th and 16th at the very worst, but at the moment it's looking like another long hard struggle
