The sporting heroes of my youth were

Bob Latchford (age 9 I had a bizarre dalliance with Everton before find the One True Path that is Pools)

Phil Edmonds (A proper english spinner who actually gave the ball a bit of flight and rip)

Steve Ovett (Always new there was something suss about Seb Coe before I knew about his shameful Toryism - and, according to private eye, exceptionally close bond with William Hague)
