I watched it and was impressed. I often get bored with tennis matches but this one was different.

In fact you could suggest that it was enthralling enough not to be posting on tinternet whilst it was on.

Well I happened to be in the pub for the last bit so it was inevitable I watched it I guess.

OK, it was a ding-dong battle but can anyone explain in a nutshell why this match was better than any other that goes on a long time?

I must admit the bit I saw there was some amazing shots by both players that I don't know how they managed to pull off!!!! confised

But tennis these days is all about power....the harder you can hit the ball the more you'll win!!!! confised confised

I mean....you very rarely see a decent rally these days....especially in woman's tennis!!!! confised confised

On a related note, I find it hard to believe Sue Barker used to cause cockstir.

In 1976? 32 years ago mate!

I've just looked at some photos of her in her tennis playing days and I STILL don't understand.
I must have been more easily pleased those days.

Yet those in charge at Wimbledon thought it right to offer the women the same prize money as the men this year sctatchinghead , if want the same amount of money maybe they should play best of 5 sets as well
