Hmmmmmmm, it seems like we are going for youth rather than experience.

Lets hope he is as good as Paul Dalton turned out to be!!

Yeah he's young but he does seem a good player, you don't stay at man u for 12 years unless you have something about you

Will have to look his record up , but any player from Man U must be half decent.

I'd rather sign young kids from man u than old timers like elliot and hignett.

Ok he might be the next danny bryne, he might be awful...

But he could be ambitious and hungry, like Liddle.

No you've made some good points which all seem very valid.

But.....

This kid could be a right winger, a back up left winger, we dont know that yet, if we are on about putting brown upfront then that right wing spot is desperatly needed.

He could be a DM, replacement for boland....

I agree we shouldnt hail this as the second coming and the greatest signing since Jesus, but it looks promising.

Speak for yourself, Dibbs. I have seen him play. I agree the big question is where and how does he fit into our team structure. He has played in central midfield for junior England sides. I hope he is as good as the last guy who held that description...........Mr Tinkler no less. It looks as if midfield is amply catered for. With a month to go we still have time to add a wide defender and a striker. I would add a goalie to that but I think we're stuck with what we've got at the moment, but I live in hope.

None of us have seen him play yet some are ready to shoot him down. Get a fooking grip.

erm...not being funny but how can people praise him without seeing him play. I think HUFC Poolie's comments were based on where he has came from. Obviously I can't comment for the fella but for me that's how it reads.

It''s not possible for anyone to praise someone they've never seen before. It'd be almost as ludicrous as handing a player of the century award out.....

jones as signed for pools after stiff competion from clubs in higher league,s than us.
but there are some on here that will pick the negative side of any signing .
to many midfielders  maybe he might be better than what we have
nobody as said it,s the last signing, danny as said he wants a right fullback
he might bring more players in
should we not wait and see before being so negative banghead

long live the optimsts rolf rolf rolf

So you've seen him play then, Tree?

If not, how can you say he isn't any good?

I think you are missing the point of your own pointless point.

I'd say your comments mean fuck all because Clegg was from Liverpool not Man Utd, none of the players you mention were kept on as long as 21 and none of them have featured in the first time at any of the clubs, I don't think any of them captained England at any level either.

Have a look at him , make you're opinion then be negative you predictable dullard.

What did you think of Gary Liddle the day he signed? I suspect you spouted similar shite.

At not one point was I negative about the lad or the signing.

Surprises me how many people are uncapable of reading a post correctly.

Not being negative but comparing his signing to David Clegg and Danny Byrne. Two eighteen year olds with no prior league experience before coming to us. We can't make a judgment before we see the lad play but he comes with a much better pedigree. He's actually played for Manchester United five times played in the Championship and the Belgian Premier League. Loads of clubs wanted him and he chose us. So on the face of it looks a positive signing, are you capable of admitting that?

I read your post perfectly clearly and the negative vibes are clear in the comparisons to David Clegg and Danny Byrne.

Right.

I could have done this as a poll but I can't be fookin' arsed.

If we signed Kaka and Robinho on Monday, who would you think would be saying 'aye, but they've never played in this league........ ' Answers here:

At no point do I make any personal comment about Jones or how good he is or will be.

My post was about people saying "he is from Man u so must be great" Im pointing out that this is far from true, a fact you cannot argue with. But hey it was a post from treeWithHamster so lets just assume its negative without even reading it.
