All I'll say is:
1967 - Vienna - Sandie Shaw - Puppet On A String
1969 - Madrid - Lulu - Boom-Bang-A-Bang (4 way tie)

Even though I'm only 18.

Not forgetting Monday 6th May 1968 - Swansea City 0 Hartlepools United 2 - a day that will forever go down in history.

And a young lad by the name of Brian Clough...don't know, who he is, like.

The Profumo affair.

Kennedy assasination.

Martin Luther King assasination.

Vietnam War.

Hippies.

Rumble in the Jungle.

I remember staying up till the early hours to watch Neil Armstrong walk on the moon. The rest of the family had all gone off to bed. When I went to school the next day and asked who else had watched, nobody had. I couldn't believe it. Do you think they all knew it was just in a Film studio in Hollywood, and I was the only one who fell for it?

I don't want to repeat the pain of my '66 memories. banghead

I reckon I was the closest to the world cup final of 66.
I was born the day before, July 29th 1966 at Hammersmith hospital just a stones throw from Wembley

I'm surprised the Suez Crisis and the Cuban Missile Crisis aren't up there. My parents say they were the two biggest events in their memory of the 60s.

Interesting fact - the day Kennedy was assassinated, my mam was watching the Beatles live in Stockton.

Dyke House Youth Club and the Beatles, Love Me Do. Didn't like anything else of the Beatles until Rubber Soul.

As for THAT match, I was on a bus down to Wiltshire at the time so we had to make do with the radio.
