....is an absolute joke and Morgan Tsvangarai is an absolute disgrace.

The MDC have just pulled out of Friday's second round of voting.

They've just all given up, the lot of them and because of it the tyrant Robert Mugabe has ANOTHER term in office that he shouldn't even have.

IT'S A DISGRACE !!!!!!!

Fair play to Mugabe, he wears a lovely suit, does anyone have his tailors phone number

Also, for a man that age to complete a run off is some achievement!!!

PS

As for the 'oil' thing, if the West did intervene, they would be getting the same old bollocks they are now over Iraq, 'Invading a Sovereign nation, blah, blah, fooking blah!

I would actually support military action in Zimbabwe, simply because it would be a relatively peaceful coup - just take him out, install a new government and put measures in place to improve food prices and the economy. Simple.

I fully agree with my honourable friend here.

We're getting conflicting reports here: their leader has just tole CNN that no decision has been taken yet.

This still isn't clear - I may even have to retract my original statement.

Continuously being arrested and seeing hundreds of your activists put to death doesn't make taking part in (fixed) elections any more appealing. Tsvangarai an 'absolute disgrace'? He's done well to even get this far.

You don't enter a process without fear of getting murdered by Mugabe supporters, only enter the first round and then pull out of the run-off because you don't want to go through with "the game of Mugabe".

It makes me laugh, the movement for Democratic Change !

Allowing a torturer and murderer of his own people to win another term in office is simply undemocratic and does not change things!!!!!!

What planet are you orbiting... if it's so easy, you offer to stand in for him... , do you have the first grasp of what's going on there? The bloke has been jailed numerous times, hospitalised numerous times over the years, he's done well to get this far. As for intervening and the oil crap....if any Western power, especially this country, were to intervene militarily we'd be palying into Mugabe's hand. He'd scream the old colonial oppressors were back and the African sub continent would get the collective vapours and go into meltdown....that's why no one is intervening.

It's no good going through all that then just suddenly giving up, Snowy, that's how it's going to be perceived. A man has to stand up for what he believes in until the bitter, bitter end. If it means dying and being killed and Zimbabwe being a free land that returns to a state of normality, then he would become a national hero.

Honestly, it would not take us long for our boys to crush them might of the Army of the Republic of Zimbabwe, even the mere threat would get Mugabe to resign - we'd be in and out in a week. Lets go to the UN, get authority go in there and sort it, once and for all.

I'm not scared of Mugabe's henchmen, of dying cos anybody who does sort this out and chucks out Mugabe would become this generation's Nelson Mandela.

Dead heroes can't change things, I suspect he knows the election is going to go against him even if everybody voted for him....this way he can turn his mind to other ways to undermine the regime.
As for invading the country, militarily it wouldn't be a peoblen and I suspect most of the population would be relieved, like Sierra Leone which was successful and nobody refers to. However it's too close to South Africa and politically would be disastrous...it's a shame to see a country that was so rich agriculturally being turned into an economic basket case.

I duly not Sierra Leone.

How can the party indemrine the regime ?

Why would it be politically disastrous just because it's near SA ?

As for invading the country, militarily it wouldn't be a problem and I suspect most of the population would be relieved, like sieera leoone which was successful and nobody refers to. if you are taking part in an election where the regime does the vote counting, you aint gonna win no matter how just your cause. I suspect that as now most countries are condemning the scenes in the country, he'd be better off putting pressure on from outside the country and who knows we may end up with another guerilla war to depose Mugabe.
As for the politics, if the UK were to 'intervene' militarily, Southern Africa would interpret it as the return of the old colonial ruler coming back to restore the country to the white settlers... rubbish of course...but that's politics. As for South Afica.....they see themselves as the dominant power in the region and as all the governments of the neighbouring countries share a common background in independence struggles which Mugabe would surely capitalise on, then such an action would make things very difficult politically for this country.

I've got to agree with this, and with Kolley. Morgan Tsvangirai is simply protecting his supporters, and such an act may lead to something bigger anyway.

Zimbabwe was the richest African nation when we pulled out, and even though bread now costs 100 million Mickey Mouse pounds there, some people still can't see the problem. When you have a black fascist leading what seems to be the longest counter-revolutionary tirade (as his single policy too), sometimes nothing can be done.

I feel really sorry for Tsvangirai though. He'll be dead in a couple of months, if he hasn't fled the country. South Africa have been fucking useless as per usual and no-one else is stepping in.

It's times like this that I even agree with Nick Clegg about going in and sorting the place out. Then again, if we do Zimbabwe, then we'd have to do Darfur, Somalia, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Congo, etc etc... and even then, even if it was for the greater good, we'd be seen as reapplying colonialism by the entire world and be even more fucked over by OPEC, taxes, all that bollocks.

It's a lose-lose situation. I dunno why Mugabe didn't fix the vote properly in the first place.

Pop down there and have a go then, keep us informed about how you get on, if the leccy's running that is. :!: I understand that's an exclamation mark but thought it was appropriate.
