No players swarming all round the Referee when he makes a decision!!!!

Even after last nights 50/50 penalty Decesion the Players just took his decision....(fair enough I know someone got booked for having a word etc)....but in the Games I've seen there hasn't been any disgraceful scenes!!!!

Just remembered....the likes of Rooney, Ferdinand, Terry etc etc aren't over there are they....silly me?!?! confised  confised

One thing I have noticed is that only Howard Webb has had the bottle to give a penalty for shirt pulling/jostling in the box. All of the foreign referee's have either let it go or made the free kicks/corners be retaken. The only way they'll learn is if you let them do it then give the penalty.

Not liking the amount of diving and playacting going on though, saw a quote this week somewhere (might have even been on here) when a rugby referee sent off a player for dissent and told him "this is NOT football, off!"

the refs need to get tougher refred refyellow refred

I havent saw the penalty decision, but if it is for shirt pulling/jostling im pleased Howard Webb gave it.

At the start of the tournament the referees were coached on a few different areas, one of them was to be alot more harsh against defenders who pull shirts/jostle in the box.

However what is in this mornings papers? That Webb has come under fire for giving the penatly. If he is one of the few with the balls to do what is actually asked of him, wtf ?!

Here's a video (2nd one down) of the penner incident followed by a close up of the shirt pull.

It was a penalty - even Lawro, who is pretty shit, explained it perfectly: "if you don't want a penalty given against you, you shouldn't be pulling shirts in the first place."
