This article is about a leading AIDS/HIV doctor.

An unfortunate name in his line of work.

I did an article on aptronyms a while back - names that link to their profession. Scott Speed, Wolfgang Wolf, Michael Ball etc. Kevin De Cock is one of the best - although I quite like Cardinal Sin of the Philippines or Gibraltar's Minister for Tourism, Joe Holiday

My list (of sportsmen) was:

Gary Player
Tiger Woods
Michael Ball
Chris Moneymaker
Mario Lemieux ("the best")
George Best
Chuck Long
Willie Thrower
Mack Strong
Derek Jeter ("to throw")
Scott Speed
Arsene Wenger
Wolfgang Wolf

An honourable mention goes to the US Secretary for Education, Margaret Spellings, Judge Learned Hand and Usain Bolt, the current 100m record holder :grin:

Not being a regular follower of the news at the time, I didn't get the joke when some Catholics I knew started saying "Sin forgive me for I have fathered".

When we had a contract in Hartlepool steelworks the other year there was a bloke working for Corus called Mike Hunt.

You would have thought that he'd have preferred Michael or Mick.

Like the majority of under 30's in Hartlepool these days I've have an ill fated stint at Garlands and I spent many an hour looking for celebrity phone numbers and humorous names in the database;

Favorite names;

Mr Arthur Bastard (without swear filter!)
Mr Harry Christmas
Mr Micheal Mouse

More than one Wayne Kerr

Loads of R Sole's as well.

Favorite celebrity number was Henry Kelly of Going for Gold 'fame'.

There was a William Ankers as a customer in a bank I worked at, they had to put a "." after the W on his card to stop it from plainly reading W ANKERS

There was also an Alan Chicken (shouldn't be funny but just sounds stupid!), a John Bruce Badger (Who lived with a Roland Badger) and a favourite of mine (and this was wrote in capitals on the account card) B. ATTACK, it just conjures up hoardes of bees!

I did work with a lad called Tom Watt and if we had a meetng where name badges were needed we always had to put his full name on rather than initials cos TWatt sort of summed the lad up. It was right though him being a scot.
