Weird thing taste innit, I see the foo fighters as watered down indie pop (not a bad band, a couple of their earlier albums were quite good) whereas nirvana were edgy and different, still quite poppy tunes but they had something special that set them apart from everybody else.

Each to their own like

The first 3 foo's albums are unreal, the rest after have still been very tasty.

Awesome band

Mr Dead, far be it from me to call into question your obvious knowledge of music, but Nirvana were one of the most important rock bands in recent times.....

The Foo Fighters hit the music business at the right time. I think it helps that Dave Grohl is such a legend and a genuinely decent guy with a good sense of humour. I don't rate their albums as much as the likes of Incubus and the Chilis in the same period because they weren't as consistent, but some of their songs are phenomenal (especially live  )

Never got into Nirvana or Foo Fighters as was abroad or having a few years popping e's and listening to dance music or massive attack/primal scream etc.
Dont have any music by either of them but if I had my arm pressed behind my back it would definitely be Nirvana and definitely not the Foofies.

NORGE YOU bounder!!!!! I have never been as jealous of anybody as i am of you now rage rage

I was at wembley on saturday to see the foo's, and it was without doubt the GREATEST gig i've ever been to.

OK, maybe that was because during the encore Dave & Taylor were joined by Led Zepplin's John Paul Jones and Jimmy Paige to perform Ramble On & Rock N' Roll which was just truley mind blowing!! clappp clappp clappp

trust me norge, your in for a treat. the foo's are on top form at the minute and the acoustic set in the middle of the show is tremendous

p.s. anyone who gets the chance to go to the new wembley, be it for a gig, footy or whatever else, you will not be dissapointed, i've been a few times now and the place never fail's to impress me, it is a truley awesome stadium (should be like considering what it cost)

It's pure So Cal stuff, but the Chilis were at their peak when they released Blood Sugar Sex Magik and again with Californication. After that they flogged themselves a bit, and they're rubbish live (even gave them a second chance live viewing and they just came across as musically pretentious).

I still think Incubus are vastly underrated for American alternative rock in the mid to late 90s. S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and Make Yourself are amazing albums.
