Went to renew season tickets today.

Myself,(Adult) £359
My mate,(Adult) £100
My Daughter,(Under 13) £70
My mates daughter,(Under 13) £50
My Youngest Nephew (Under 16) £75

Grand Total -------£ 654

I then said Cyril Knowles stand for me & Mill House for my mate & they refused us the discounted offer so well done Pools you have just lost 3 current season ticket holders and 2 new season tickets.
It said in the press and on the order form that tickets must be both adult or both student etc, nowhere at all does it say they have to be in the same area, when I pointed this out the woman scoured the form & then said "Yeah but we mean same area too" well Fuck you very much Pools. Our 25 year relationship is now over.
I will also be making sure that my 2 children do not follow this club either, there will be no more shirts etc from the club shop in this house. You have just proved all those who sit at home & watch Man U on telly right.

Edit:The eldest nephew (just turned 16) has decided he'd rather chase girls anyway so theyve only lost £654 instead of the initial £853

I checked myself before I went down so I knew full well that there were no stipulations about same area.
They asked us to introduce another season ticket holder, which I did,as well as introducing his daughter too.
Angry doesnt begin to decribe how I feel right now.

I used to joke that the staff in the ticket office saw their role as preventing as many people as possible from buying tickets, now I dont think its a joke I think its true.

you may have indeed been shat on from a great height, but to stop supporting Pools and stopping your kids from supporting them is going a bit far isnt it?

it was obvious (to me at least) that the friend would have to be in the same part of the ground.

I think the bit of his post about not supporting Pools you have to take with a pinch of salt....Mr.Crimes is a TRUE Poolie!!!!

But your bit about the 'Friend' been in the same part of the ground I disagree with....no-one seemed to know the ruling on this 100%....but most thought that you wouldn't have to be in the same part of the ground!!!! confised

dont get me wrong, i wasnt questioning his loyalty or owt, i would have been livid too. But i had a conversation with my old man yesterday and we were disgussing helping people out as we were both season ticket holders and we both assumed it would be a 'same section' rule.

anyway apologies if i sounded like a bounder

they have always been a joke down there since i can remember, as far back as that lad who had eyes at ten to two!

remember before me dad went down to buy a shirt for him, me self and our kid and they just could not be arsed to help him, he was like am basically throwing a 100 quid at you here all am asking for is a bit of customer service but obviously that still means nothing to them and they can afford to chuck 654 quid away.

Their argument will be if your introducing a 'friend' surely you want then to be sat/stood next to you holding your hand. If they are in another part of the ground they can't be your 'friend', and you are obviously trying to rip of the good people who run the club. Never mind that Hartlepool United will be losing to the tune of a 4 figure sum over the coming season. Unbelievable. stpid stpid stpid

Ive calmed down a bit now,I will get an email drafted over the weekend & contact the club on Monday,Im sure they will see sense, especially if I point out to them that by allowing people to introduce friends who use different areas of the ground they are increasin the amount of fans they can get.
As angry as I am Ill never end up becoming a premiershit armchair supporter tho, love em or hate em Pools are the only team that matters, thats just the way it is & the way it always will be.

Oi, You! Mark Simpson

Can you please raise this with the relevant person? Whatever the reasons, its just plain daft to lose this amount of loyalty and revenue for such a silly rule.

I have to admit, I believed it to be same section of the ground, but to basically "Throw away" the amount of money Groovy was giving them is nothing short of scandolous. Many people meet for a drink prior to a game and then attend separate parts of the grounds, Just like some travel to away games and if two parts of ground are accessible to away supporters, standing and a small seating area they may go to separate parts.

It's one silly rule after another Mr I.

If it was just one silly rule or misunderstanding then people wouldn't react in this way.

I think whoever is responsible for this season's pricing etc of season tickets should be sacked for cocking it up beyond all belief.

I also think that it is harsh to have a pop at the folk in the ticket office. They are merely doing what their boss has told them, and personally I've always found them more than helpful every time I've been in there.

can't afford to go this season at all as things stand. We bring home over £3.5k per month between us as well - that's debt for you.

Send them an e-mail setting out your points young sir

my mate did the same when he found out that new season ticket holders were to be charged less than existing ones under the current offer and the Green Russ phoned him back a few days later.

my mate then spent 45 minutes "advising" the club on ways to look after the fans, like giving existing ticket holders their tickets for £100 if they introduced a ful paying ticket holder (the outcome would have been the same if both split the cost down the middle) and let season ticket holders of over 3 years into the centenary tournament free of charge!!) The club would then benefit from increased beer/food/prog sales over the 2 days

Not rocket science but simply good marketing and looking after the fans

Anyway I digress, if you set out your findings in an e-mail and ask for a response i'm sure things can get sorted. As someone previously said, they're not going to turn away £600 aquid over something so petty.

Never say die!!

Look, either buy or don't buy, the choice was always yours. If you think it's too dear, then it probably is but that's no reason for the club to embrace your personal finances. You have to understand that.

If you go to Tesco's and say, 'that milk is too dear for we daily milk drinkers,' you WILL get sectioned. Football is no different.

Of course the choice is there. But the cost isn't the issue. It's the completely cack handed way that they're going about it this summer. It's probably the biggest cock up that they've ever come up with, and with their history that takes some doing.

What you on about Splender ?
The issue here is that the club made an offer,I accepted the offer (and complied with the terms that were attached to it) but when I went to pay was told that I couldnt have the offer.

Last night someone connected to the club contacted me & told me that they will look into this on Monday morning & get back to me.
Hopefully if people find out that you dont have to sit together to take advantage of the offer we can hit a record number of season ticket sales.

On the customer service at Pools, I've always found the lasses in the ticket office to be reasonably efficient and helpful. I think that a lot of daft decisions that are made come from those in senior posistions at HUFC and the people serving are just acting upon what they are told from above.......

I must admit ive slagged the ticket office off in the past but i went in yesterday to get the bairn on the database and they couldnt do enough to help. They answered any queries regarding ticket offers etc.

When i originally rang up last week asking what i had to do to get bairn on the database they were great and really helpful, i asked about buy one get one for a £100 quid and the lass in the office stated the tickets had to be in the same part of the ground. Whilst in there yesterday someone rang (me being a nosey get eavesdropped the conversation) and the old dear in there stated the 2 season tickets must be in the same part of the ground.

I hope you get it sorted tomorrow GC we need all the support we can get  especially with this geezer in charge.

PS Groovy did you get kitchen sorted my mate has just been laid off by Yuills and is available straight away if you stuck for getting it fitted.

It looks like the staff in the ticket office have either been misinformed or have just made an assumption about the offer.Im pretty certain it will be dealt with tomorrow & Pools will allow people from any parts of the ground take up the offer.
I have someone coming to look at the kitchen tomorrow so Ill let you know in the next day or two if I need your mate.Cheers

In other words the person who gave Groovy grief completely missed the point of the scheme.
They really ought to brief their sales staff and demand just a minimum of intelligence from them.

How did it cause him 'loads of chew', it was all sorted within a few working days, the club has clarified the situation on the web site.

The only one who seems to be hanging onto this with a dog like a bone is you!

It was really unfortunate and completely unnecessary what GC went through, but it has now been resolved which is good. I have always found the staff at Pools most helpful both at the ground and on the phone. Today was no exception.

I fully agree with that in terms of the staff who we get to deal with. I think that they take a lot (too much) stick at times for doing their job.

For the sake of clarity, it's the ones higher up making the decisions which they have to implement who I was referring to previously.

The club likes to think that its ran professionally but its just a shame the club shop and ticket office is a complete and utter joke and has been for as long as i can remember.

It doesnt take much to be helpful but half the staff seem to enjoy being rude/awkward.

I avoid going as much as I can as if i want to be shouted at/talked down to/ignored I can go see the misses!

Hope you get it sorted mate and i applaud you for sticking to your guns and not bothering if they cant see sense.

Tree does have a point about the staff in the ticket office,I have always found them to be rude & unhelpful.

It was sorted and very amicably

It certainly was,I have applauded Pools for dealing with it as well as they did.As far as Im concerned alls well that ends well.
Lets just hope that people become aware that there is no rule about being in the same part of the ground & we sell a few more tickets.

So are Pools letting you have the £100 season ticket for another stand now?

Or is it only for people who complain?
