Y'know, Renault Laguna, Volkswagen Sharan and that.

Do only dickheads and pensioners buy them??

I've driven to Plymouth and back for the second week running and I keep getting fouled by these bounders in people carriers.

Now I know Grandads and Grandma's buy them with fond thoughts of filling them with Grandkids and having days out in the Dales and Crimdon Dene and that. Then they find out that the Grandkids are all on crystal meth and hate boiled sweets and the smell of piss and won't get in them BUT what is it with these executive-looking rarfs who aren't because they STILL have no hands free kit and pretend they aren't on the phone while swerving all over the shant and annoying the bloody furck out out of ME!!!!!!!

'KIN STOBBUT!!!!!!

He's thinking of a Scenic.

Which is, indeed, a shite car.

Practical people buy them.
What can you do, if you have two kids (or more), a partner, a dog - and you go away for weekends. An estate might not be big enough.
I had the dilemna six or seven months ago with another kid about to drop out.
It was obvious - a people carrier would serve my needs excellently.
Except I'm shallow. I think they look crap.
I bought a ten year old jeep instead, convinced the mrs it was just a volvo on big wheels. Its people like me that bring you ridiculously hot summer heat waves.

Get the right one and they are also really nice to drive. I knocked about in a VW Sharan for a few weeks last year. I was very impressed in terms of comfort. They are obviously not a racing car but for pottering about - fantastic.

They are a bit of a paradox mind you. 7 or 8 seats but sod all luggage space.

they are ridiculous - some of them are just bigger cars - ie 5 seaters - raised a but so lucy can see the kerb when she struggles to park the fooker and because we have been indoctrinated into having them.

fooked id you're unable to know what the fook birth control is tho 3quid and you need one.

A Jeep - BWHP -a jeep ! - shittin hell - worse than these french derivatives of cars are 4x4s for people who dont fookin need one - the people should not take so much shit about with them and stop pampering to the the needs of their bloody kids (+ wives to boot) and just buy a standard car and jam the gear in. fookin sick of seeing women taking their kid(s) to school - when they live over the road (a certain strikers wife springs to mind) in a 4x4 - lazy, unhealthy and no good - and dont get me started on these fookin pick ups.............aaarrgghh

I normally put shopping in my carriers. Most people are too big to fit in one. And too heavy.

Hve you got a 'Bag For Life' from Sainsbury's??

What's all that about then and has it ever been proved?? I had one and I put my airbed in it to take to a festival. The bastad ((c) ADG) handle fell off didn't it??

So that wasn't for life was it?? It was just 'til August Bank Holiday 1998.

I can see both sides of the story here. When I were a lad me dad had a polo, and that did us fine for family holidays of me, mam, dad, sister. Up till when I was about 6 a beetle did the job just as well, and there's no boot in the buggers!

On the other hand, my sister now has a 6 year old and 9 month old twins, and the twin buggies are massive. She bought an Espace which is really the only thing big enough to carry everything without any chew. Estate cars aren't the best use of space, and the Espace has a footprint about the same as a normal Mondeo.

In conclusion, I reckon loads of people have them when they don't need them, but some people do. If I get round to having kids I'm gonna buy a camper van.
