I feel another lower mid table coming on. We will become to the third division what Rochdale and Darlington are to the fourth; perennial existers.

I think the question is a bit premature. I will reserve judgement until I see what the squad is.

A fine phrase, though but. 'Perennial existers'.

So you're saying we're going to become perenially a division better than we always were.
I suppose that'll do for starters.

But you musn't over-analyse metaphors. They lose their charm

No difference really, I'm suggesting that we will be too good to go down and not good enough to go up. A bit like a lower league Middlesbrough if you will.

I wasn't talking to you, Mr Dibble, but to Mr I who has joined in the belittling of his own metaphor

personally - I think we''ll be in a relegation scrap from the first whistle, and it will go to game 46.
Sorry folks, but this squad ain't good enough. Now if we were to get a decent keeper for starters, he might get us an extra 5/6 points which could be the difference between staying up and going down.
Budtz and Barrett in nets for 46 games = relegation this time I'm afraid.

I'd take perennial existence happily. I'd rather be a League One regular than hitting the highs and then pissing it all away.

Besides, Bristol City and Stoke City were perennial existers of sorts - look what happened to them

I think we will do well (top half) but only if we can sign a goalkeeper that isn't a complete fukking clown. A central midfielder that is like a young Willie Boland and a centre forward that is mobile but that can actually control a ball. Some full backs would be nice but we've made do since Jack Ross fukked off and Hugh became crocked so whats another year....?
