About six weeks ago I joined a posh gym just over the road. I was approached by a personal trainer - ex 148 Bty, club swinger. And he convinced me to sign up to a personal trainer routine.

Twice a week I have an hours session with him and go in by myself another twice. Frankly I haven't hurt like this for more years that I like to think about, its like being a nod recruit and paying for the privilege.

Anyone else a gym regular?

EDIT:
148 Bty - a military formation.
Club Swinger - Naval Physical Training Instructor

I regularly go to swing clubs; is that what you mean?

Well I suppose his arse is a fair distance from Nottingham like (unless it's over 100 miles wide ... oh wait ...).

I go to mill house gym, steam room and swimming.

It's basic but does for me.

Do some running and also plenty of footy every week.

I go out drinking too much so i never notice a change in shape.

I go to fitness connexion 4 times per week. I'd probably be lost without the gym as training is rather addictive

Brierton Gym. 2 quid 50 a go. No monthly fee, loads of machines, recently renovated. Kicks the arse out of the Mill House.

I'd love a personal trainer but I havent got any money.
I reckons its the best way to get me fit and toned. Someone coming to my house or me going to them twice a week; them looking down their nose at me telling me how sad and unfit I am.
I honestly reckon it would work and would start tomorrow if I had the dosh

My sister's husband has a personal trainer paid for by his employers. Two mornings a week ex-Mackem and Wolves player Don Goodman gets him running about like a blue arsed fly. It's not a bad perk if you ask me, although he generally does 70 hour weeks as standard.

You've got a point although he absolutely loves his job. I can't imagine meself ever doing something that I would enjoy spending that much time doing.

I work with people.......robots.......that work 70 hour weeks here. I am sure we all do.

We are all contracted to work 37.5 hours. No one gets paid overtime.

Now obviously I am working my notice.......so I am just turning up......just after the start time na dgoing just before the finish time.

But before that......no matter what time I started, and left, a good number of robots here were already in. And believe me they are NOT that busy.

But big bosses....love these people........and that just makes life difficult for those people that DO have a life.

I hate these bounders.

its things like this that make me appreciate working for myself [although my days are numbered...], its the onset of arthritis, the boredom and falling off the ladders that depress me about it...
