has joined Huddersfield's coaching staff. I'm still traumatised by the 6 months he was in charge here, and that was 25 years ago. Frigging hell, I'm old!!!!
One lucky win in 25 games, and loads of 5 and 6 goal thrashings off teams who were mediocre at best.
I think his football knowledge must have come from comic books.

I was thinking of 89/90 with all the thrashings, but at least we turned that season around in the end. 1983 must be the worst year in the club's history (back end of 82/83 and beginning of 83/84). How did the club survive? sctatchinghead sctatchinghead confised confised

I was on holiday in Spain, where the papers were 3 days behind the printing date, when I found out we had been re-elected. Agonising wait and a horrible 3 days not knowing if my beloved Pools were still a Football League club or not!!!!
I opened the back page of the first paper I grabbed, and there was a pic of Ray Kennedy smiling and clenching his fist in victory after the League AGM. The headline underneath, "It's a carve-up, roar angry Maids," referring to Maidstone's failed attempt. I remember the diatribe by a bloke called David Prole who did the forecasts for the pools in one of the national papers, and basically he wrote a whole page assassinating Pools in the name of promoting Maidstone. He's dead now, the wanker, just like Maidstone. I want to know where his grave is, so I can have a shit on it.
