When asked what it felt like to gain legendary status among the Hull fans, he said: "I'm not a legend.

"People use that word too much in football and I don't like it. I'm not a legend, I'm a footballer.

I dont like that phrase because you get people like those that go and fight for the country in Iraq and those sorts of places, and I get paid a lot of money to just kick a football about and do something I enjoy.

"They are the real legends - the real heroes. Not people like me, and I don't want to be called that." clappp clappp clappp

Although he's a fat bastard, the bloke's brilliant.

Do you think, if he stays at Hull, he'll be the fattest player in the Premiership, or is that still Andy Reid?

He's a quality player and fook knoiws how many stone or how old he is these days but I hope he gets another chance in the premier league and doesn't just get dumped for some foreign waste of space who spends half the time on the deck.
He might look fat but other than super fit Smythe I reckon few on here could keep up with him, he's obviously pretty fit to still be playing at his age.

you're probably right, they'll replace him with someone who would never score a goal like that in a million years. And they'll wonder why they'll be struggling even more than they expected to.

I think I remember Dean Windass playing for Bradford at Pools a few years ago, maybe four or five and he was getting hammer from the Town End, the usual 'you fat bastad ((c)ADG)' jokes and then belted one straight past Jimmy Provett from somewhere near the D to put them 1 up. He stuck his arm up, put both hands under his gut, wobbled it a bit and just laughed.

Top bloke. I want to buy his book, anyone read it??

Mind I might be wrong, drink was always taken before these occasions.

Top player but that tackle he did for Bradford against one of the opposition's centre halves should have seen him do time.

I had to register for youtube as this video is classified that bad. If that had been on a Pools player instead of a Bournemouth one then I'm not sure he'd be the top bloke he is being made out to be!

I remember that!

One of the times I've been begrudgingly respectful to an opposition player. Bloody brilliant.

Aah, but football fans are very two faced.

Lee Hughes: did time for killing someone whilst driving under the influence - evil bastard.
Bob Newton: did time for killing someone whilst driving under the influence - hero to many Poolies.

I don't include myself in that last bit, far as I'm concerned he's just another pisshead drink driver who happened to play football. Moreover, he didn't learn his lesson either, he was done for DD again last year.
