I was pissing myself watching the cricket earlier, they were using 'The Hot Spot' technology to show where the ball his on Alistair Cook's bat when he was caught at short leg. If anyone hasn't seen it it basically looks like a police heat seeking night vision camera that they use in helicopters to catch the baddies. When the ball makes contact with the bat or pad it shows up as a little brightly lit 'hot spot'.

Anyway they showed a couple of angles including on from behind facing the bowler which detected the contact with Cooks bat then onto his leg, also fully illuminated by the heat seeking camera was umpire Simon Taufel's cock nothing else just his penis.

Cue David Lloyd "Oh look even the umpires got a little hot spot!"

I was reading an article in one of the papers (someone left behind in the works canteen  ) about the production of test cricket tv programmes on Sky. The bloke in charge has to sit in front of dozens of tellys watching the game from every conceivable angle and dishes out the orders to the production crew/commentary team and he oversees the use of all the gadgetry. He never actually sees a ball bowled "live" though, and I have to say although it's wrong that test cricket now only appears on a subscription tv channel, there's no doubt that the coverage is unbelievably good these days.

Looking at it from the 'glass half empty' perspective, if they hadn't played so badly in the first innings they wouldn't have had to dig themselves out of the sh*t. bbolt

But your right well played yesterday.

It was a great win but I missed most of it as I was at the Riverside watching Durham thrash Scottish Saltires & Derbyshire over the weekend.

Incidentally Bumble is back playing league cricket for Accrington alongside his son.

How come cricket can go on for three days or five, or whatever it is and still end in a draw.........?
Make them play in Twighlight with a tennis ball, on the field between Argyll Road and Aberdeen Road, that'll sort it!
