I've held off posting about this subject off a picture of Shearer in the bar as I was that irate and did not want to say anything which I might later regret and sound like a tw*t in front of my fella posters but after thinking about this for the last couple of days I have come to the conclusion that Ken Hodcroft is a complete and utter c**t

How dare he put a picture up of his mate and then try to create some connection with Newcastle united to justify it. So what if our 1st game was against Newcastle united why does that have to justify having a picture of Alan Shearer - was he there?

Put pictures of people who mean and contributed to the club over the 100 years- Cyril Knowles, Brian Clough, Harold Horsley, Brian Honour, Kenny Sutheren, Danny Wilson, Adam Boyd, Chris Turner, Len Ashurst, Billy Horner, Neal Cooper, Berg Larsen,Tommy Miller, Keith Houchen, Fred Westgrath, Alfred Priest or moments in our history which made the club what it is today

you could even put some spin on it-

have all black and white pictures up of players and fans looking sad then BANG !!! IOR take over - full colour with fans smiling and players cleabrating with a big picture of Ken in the middle

All these people above mentioned gave something to the club, if you created a history wall, it would be the talking point of every poolie. (For posters who drink in the Clarendon, they has a picture on the wall of drinkers past and present, and many a time you see people standing round it talking of old friends) - it's the Clarendon's History!!! i can't see a picture of Barry Wilkinson in there- the reason he had nothing to do with the club

Just for the record I will not be getting a season ticket, I will not be putting any sponsorship deals Russ's way and I certainly will not be drinking in the bar ever again.

It's not his club!! he is a employee of IOR it's not his money he's spending unlike Harold Hornsey-so what if he has the title of chairman Hartlepool united he still has to report his figures into the owner of Hartlepool United- I don't want IOR to leave Hartlepool united but can some one please remove this clown

The reason, Frankie baggs done a lot for the club, most of time unpaid work to try and create revenue for the club when it was on it's ars*e.

My frustration is not at IOR and Berg Larsen but the clown they have put in charge

I don't agree with the Shearer thing and think it should come down.

I won't go in the lounge til it is down.

But to have a bash at "Uncle Ken" is over the top. He and IOR have done so much for Pools that one decision that you don't agree with is hardly a hanging offence.

Regarding the prices- the season we were relegated did the prices come down? did they F**k so don't start with you get what you pay for- and if you read my 1st post correctly you will see I stated I did not want IOR to pull out but remove Ken Hodcroft

I think everyone has missed the point of the post- I think we should pull the shearer painting down and put something up which celebrates pools history- the fact that we have a painting up of Alan Shearer is done to the fact that Ken will anything to get his picture took if him

The prices didn't come down? They didn't go up so in real terms, taking into account inflation, they did actually come down.

And as far as I'm aware, KH and IOR are intrinsically linked so calling for one to go is calling for them both to go. So if that is the case then what do you want?

I agree with Chip and Ripper.
Some of the reactions are completely over the top. If Ken Hodcroft/ IOR/ Berg Larsen or whoever happens to be the 'owners' decided to walk away then that really would be a serious talking point.
The problem here is that pictures of all the Poolie legends mentioned above have not been donated to the club. A picture of Alan Shearer has. I'm sure if anybody decided to get a painting of say Kenny Johnson commissioned and then donated it to the club, then the club would hang it up. At this moment in time the club have had ONE painting donated to them. The club didn't CHOOSE to have that painting commissioned, it was DONATED to them. If Ken Hodcroft has actually had the portrait commissioned then that is a different kettle of fish. Like I said in another thread, I would have had either the oldest supporter I could find or someone like Kenny Johnson or both to open the lounge, as their association with the club is more appropriate.
For the record, AGAIN, I wouldn't have chosen Alan Shearer to open the lounge, but that wasn't my choice. As for his picture, they can hang it where they like.

I can't be arsed to research a list of ticket prices for our division but I would bet that we weren't vastly more, if at all more, expensive than the majority or all of the other teams in our division.

How many away games did you go to last season and think, "This is cheap compared to a home game"? None that I can think of, although there were several the season before in Division 4 (Boston springs immediately to mind and where are they now?). Hence the view that you get what you pay for.

pretty much any one who has just bought a house, if i took me self another adult and two kids to a match, would not get much change out of 70 quid. simply could not afford it and thats on a tradesman wages
