I don't remember him ever posting on here but I notice he is/was registered as a member here.
I used to be a moderator on the Vital site and he certainly did not post on there. I don't post on Rivals, or any other site, so our paths haven't crossed.
I got involved on here because my wife was being accused of being him, which I think you may understand.

This was not Hodcroft's idea. The portrait of Shearer was gifted to the club by Jack Nixon and Hodcroft, being the polite gentleman that he is, accepted it. At this moment in time it is hanging in the Centenary Lounge as a mark of respect to the man who donated it. It may not always hang there.
I suppose that Hodcroft could have spit in the old boy's face and burnt the portrait. Jack Nixon is an adopted Poolie and what he did was with the best intentions and a gift to the club.
Nothing more and nothing less.
However we musn't let stupid prejudices, hatred and lack of respect get in the way of a well intentioned gift. :roll:

I've had raffle prizes that went back into the next raffle. Maybe thats where the portrait came from.

Howay Mr Ticklehill give your head a shake, You know and I know that a portrait of anyone in another clubs colours that has no association whatsoever with Hartlepool, should be hung in any lounge at the club, it's a joke, and hopefully will not still be on show when the new season starts. You shouldn't need to ask anyone why it's there, cos it's so obvious that it shouldn't be, whatever the reason!

Pardon me for interrupting but I have never said it should be hung there. I really couldn't give a toss where Hodcroft decides to put it. What I am saying is that anybody who is so moved by this action should ask the club.........1. Why has it been put there? and 2. Is it going to stay there?
You never know Mr Hodcroft might have a good reason to put it there. There again he might not. If it made me as angry as it has some people then I would be contacting the club. My opinion is that there are bigger issues to get stuck into than a portrait of Shearer hanging in the club lounge.
Simple as that.

Isn't it ironic that an issue such as Parmo's daughters getting left stranded, which could have been disastrous, hardly gets an emotion and yet here we are getting all hot under the collar over a bloody picture which, in the fullness of time, will probably get quietly put to one side.
The taxis are getting discussed but the trauma that those girls, and their parents, went through gets a passing nod.
