I enjoyed the Dale v Darlo play off game very much, again Darlo looked very ordinary, but don't forget they had a whole team missing with injuries!

Anyway, I liked the look of Jason Kennedy, the little lad Perkins had a great game, and Stanton at the back was a tower of strength. I'd welcome all three of them to our squad. Perkins and Stanton would depend on the result of the final. We can offer Kennedy league one football already!

I'd also like to see Arnison signed up, but you can keep Michael Bridges Mr Brown, at 29 and with more money than sense I worry about his desire for the game.

I agree with most of that but I think we can do better than Arnison. He was a squad player at best at Carlisle and is now released. League two standard IMO, we have enough of them already.
I think the other league two players you mentioned are capable of stepping up and Kennedy certainly wouldn't be out of place in league one. The big problem is that the whole nation has witnessed the performance of these players and we won't be the only ones interested.

I agree with Tickhill - Arno looks League Two standard...

As for Kennedy - if we did sign him, don't let him take the penners :wink:

Fair enough, it's a game of opinions after all.

What do you reckon to Bridges though?

I'd say no to all mentioned on this thread so far with the exception of Parker. Liam Dickinson looked balls when we played Stockport few year back.

It sure is a game of opinions. I too would like to see Dickinson and Parker in our squad along with a few more I can think of. Not sure about Bridges. With the three mentioned here we are talking top wages, to our standards that is, and I am not sure we are in a position to compete in that respect.
Donny are reputed to be interested in Parker and, like I said about the Rochdale players earlier, Dickinson has been in the shop window recently and is about to play at Wembley. His performance in that game and the result will determine his future to a great extent.
John Ryan reckons he has got several higher league players interested in going to Donny if they go up. That could make a few Donny players available but, there again, they are on top wages.
IOR have stated that they won't commit the club beyond our means so any high profile league one players will probably be beyond our means. That could also apply to high profile league two players. Whilst I would love a few 'cartwheel signings' I am not holding my breath. The likes of Brandon and this kid from Ayr appear to be the zenith of our interest. I would love to be shown as pessimistic on this one and I love a surprise, but I am not expectant.

Nor me, we should be looking for better.

stockport and mansfield are "selling" clubs so the likes of boulding and dickinson will be available, and parker is without a club at present.

cant see that they would cost any more in wages than watson, beardsley, gabbiadini, elliott etc

I think it depends on who goes after them. We had Elding until the deal was hijacked. Parker would be brilliant but I think the offers he will get will put us out of the running. He is obviously taking his time in getting a new club.

On Bridges again. If we get him it will be either because he reduces his wage expectations or IOR raise the bar. Are Carlisle still interested in him? Boulding hasn't got a problem with wages as he is loaded. I can see a trip to the likes of Chesterfield or Rotherham for him, nearer home like.
It's getting me going this speculation. Let's hope the club is seriously competing for these players.

But to what extent? Surely this will be conditioned by their play-off final success or failure.

Wilson doesn't want footballers.

He wants old "yes men" like Brandon, the potential new Ali Gibb, or other old cloggers who he'd "like to be in the trenches with" or are "the ultimate professional" in spite of their lack of quality at this level.

I can't help thinking, once again, that the Bridges thing is another Mail 'non-story'. On their front page last night it stated 'Bridges deal moves a step closer' but it is probably without any foundation and is just designed to fill the back page up.

Anyway, if he was any good he would have been playing regularly for Hull and Carlisle...

Having lived in Blackpool for 5 years, I can tell you now Keigan Parker is not the player you lot made him out to be.
A discussion with a season ticket holder;
Allegedely;
Quote:
"lazy, arrogant, pi55head. also, the thing about being on low wages at "cash-strapped" blackpool = bullshit. He wanted to be on over 4/5k p/week, but he clearly wasn't good enough to warrant that, so threw his dummy out of the pram "blackpool fans shocked that grayson has let him go." WRONG. we're glad"

That sounds more like sour grapes than serious criticism.
