Ok serious opinion here. As a coach McClaren is top quality. Sir Alex Ferguson says so himself, and I'm willing to think he knows what he's talking about, seeing as how he's won about 10 Premiership titles!

He's experienced, took Boro to their first ever trophy and European final.

England aside, his record is good. So what if he was defence-minded? It took Boro places? Are Boro in Europe this season? Have they been since McClaren left? No?

To be fair the number of tickets they've sold for tomorrow has bot all to do with how good a coach McLaren is.

What have darlow got to lose by using McLaren for a few weeks? I think he's mates with Penney so it might benefit them. I hope it doesn't like.

And I bet they don't get more than 5k home supporters in the ground for their first leg.

I don't know, but if the players were delighted after the coaching session, then that's all that matters to me. Morale will have been lifted and thats what matters.

As for tommorow I have no idea about tickets. I think Rochdale have sold about 3-4,000 though.

Eh? Are you simple?

Lucky? I highly doubt that. As a coach Steve McClaren is top notch. Ferguson says so and I trust his opinion. Fell on his arse at Boro? What, you mean winning their first ever trophy and taking them to a European Final? If thats shit, I'd love Darlo to be that shit. I'd settle for winning the Carling Cup and getting to the Uefa Cup Final. Not sure about you though?

Have Boro been in Europe since he left? Ok, he failed at England, but to at least get the England job you have to have something about you.

He was picked for the England job because Brains barwick sh1t his pants and lost out on big fat Phil

Winning the League Cup, well I'll be damned, that makes him a good coach does it?, he got found out big time in the UEFA cup final and is quite franky a dull coach, with little idea on how to motivate a side

And his buck toothed and ginga

He took them to the Uefa Final though. At a team like Middlesbrough who had never even been in Europe before!

Ferguson says he played a huge part in that treble winning season. Now, unless you were working for Manchester United at that time, I think we'll have to agree Ferguson knows best.

Yeah, OK then......

He is still an average coach

Steve Gibson has given that other fatheaded Man ure failure, Robson Millions and he did the same with Goofy

If I had spent as much as those two over a fourteen year period, I would want more than one skanky league cup

sorry but anyone who tries to question him as a coach is letting their personal feelings cloud their judgement. as a coach he is good. way better than league 2 level.

In my book him winning the league cup and taking the Boro to the UEFA Cup final is all the more reason to despise the 'lovely lovely person'.

I'd have a lot more time for the ginger buck toothed goon if he'd got the smoggy dog noncers relegated like that nice Mr Bryan Robson.
