What makes you think that they're pulling it down?

I saw the herras fencing around it but thought that maybe they were doing it up at last?

I got some photos of the shelter yesterday in case it does come down.

I think I'm right in saying it's one of the few Art Deco style buildings in the town? You see loads of that type of building all round the coast, and usually they are in good condition.

Seaton at the moment is a disgrace. Such potential, completely wasted.

Nobody uses Seaton these days either, the front is an eyesore and chavvy kids have ruined what's left. We used to go there as kids all the time. I would never take my Daughters there now.

This is why our council is a F*** joke.

Seaton Carew has so much potential should the council invest that money. Yes we all pay enough council tax as it is, but that money always seems to go on run down areas of the town, where every one is unemployed and yet driving around in flash cars with luxuries such as 52inch plasmas on the wall, who get everything for nowt.

If the council invested a few grand into Seaton it could end up being like a Whitby or something like it was in the old days, but instead they want to waste money on scum bags who cant be arsed to get a JOB!!

This topic boils my Pi$$ can you tell?

Could it fooook ever look like Whitby. stpid

There is no heritage surrounding Seaton Carew. Even when it had the showground it was still only a poor mans Whitley Bay. More of a Spanish town rather than Spanish City.

If any area of Hartlepool should be spuced up to protect its History its the HEADLAND.

Your memories of Seaton Carew as a child are sadly deluded.

Infact more people left the town in the 60's and 70's on coaches for a day out at Redcar than than Seaton Carew.

I take it from that you must be a cod head! The headland must have had millions spent on it over the past few years and has been revamped and tidied up something cronic. how much has been spent on Seaton? I bet you wouldnt go past £10k on seaton. If the council want visitors to come to Hartlepool I think Seaton would occupy an awful lot more than the Headland would mate. I'm not saying you are wrong, the point of this topic is the Council wasting money, and knocking buildings / landmarks down that form part of Hartlepool's Heritage. HOw old is the bus shelter / Clock Tower in Seaton? I bet its older than the oldest board member's great grand father. We need the council to now start and tidy up lots of areas of the town, but if they do it right and make areas tourist attractions, the revenue generated from tourism will help fund other projects rather than increasing our council tax to keep to$$ers who cant be bothered to work living in modern houses!

The Headland? Your having a laugh right.

We should cut the headland off from the central and float it out too see.

OK so it does need ideas. Why dont the council ask the public what they think / for ideas. then they could make a short list. I have plenty of ideas what could happen to turn Seaton around.

How much more money can the council spend on the mArina? None of the land is owned by them, its all Jomast or whoever it is doing the redevelopment. There is bag loads of things that could be done to improve Seaton.

Get it sorted yeh bastards!!!! banghead

PS....If no money is forthcoming that new pub/restaraunt thing will be derelict within 4/5 years and we'll have another Eyesore on our hands!!!!
