A player who has been part of a defence that conceded only four less than Wrexham, walks off with a bagful of awards.

The only bright spot in an awful season has been the goals for column at home so logically the likes of Barker, Brown and Porter should have been an automatic choice.

If it wasn't so pathetic it would be funny.

or put another way.....

the majority of our players this season have been accused of not trying or being lazy or being here just to pick up a wage. there are only two players who cant be accused of this. barker and humphreys.

if ever the kids were to be shown an example of how to act on and off the pitch, its these two. i think they both should have been awarded. they have their faults skill and ability wise, but i would rather have 11 of these type players in my team rather than 11 supposedly better players who only put 90% effort 80% of the time.

I agree, I don't think it's fair to accuse any of our players of not putting in the effort this season. The problems have been more to do with a lack of confidence and ability...

ok add clark to the list. brown can go missing way too often for my liking, same with liddle. but players with humphreys attitude should be rewarded full stop.

FOR THE LAST FOOKIN TIME, NOBODY IS SAYING THAT HE IS NOT A TOP PRO AND AN EXAMPLE TO THE TEAM, IT IS JUST THAT WE DONT RATE HIM AS THE BEST PLAYER OF THE CENTURY!

If the award was for 'Club Man of the Century', then Humphreys would win it by a country mile. 'Player of the Century'? I can't say I agree, but fair play to him for winning the accolade.

I totally agree about the Barker bit. How many times has he been kicked unconscious??

While we're on about naming replacements an' all.....I've heard one name for replacing Lord Daniel Of Millhouse, and that wasn't even on here.

Worm tongue.....

Does the award say not say more about HUFC than Richie Humphreys?

We've had loads of players far better than Richie Humphreys in terms of skill but they have either left us for bigger and brighter things, retired or gone back to play for their Norwegian side.

Richie wouldn't have won the award if we'd had a decent left back in the last five years but instead he has been the first name on the team sheet by default.

I like Richie Humphreys and no doubt his fan club are going to shoot me down and not read what I am trying to say but I can't say I'm fussed either way about him winning. He has provided us with some utterly amazing moments since he joined us and he has also provided a few stinking performances but the good outweigh the bad and if every signing provided what Richie Humphreys has provided to HUFC then we wouldn't be a League One club.

The whole thing was a joke mind and don't even start me on those fucking shirts.

some may call it a joke or a ploy of the club this 100 year award but it is the occaision they are celebrating and it just happens the RH is popular enough with a lot of fans to win it
if michael barron had been given another season he would possibly have been a candidate as along with richie two of the longest serving players
nothing is going to change the fact so people should get over it

What's there to get over? All I see is people exchanging views on their opinions of last nights result. It's not like anyone is trying to get the vote recounted!

None. He is the only player ever to provide excellent moments for Pools and should have been given the player of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90's too. Happy now?
