A big well done from me too.

Players being out of position and the jibe about the keepers were great, but the bit about seeing the young players was the icing on the cake.

Brilliant.

No doubt about it PoolieInNottingham was the star man at the POTY awards (Oh and Ritchie of course) It wasn't so much what he said, it was how he said it! Judging from Chris Turner's reaction, I don't think PIN will be on CT's Christmas card list.

what was said by PIN like, and how did he manage to get to make a speach?

Did he have a dig and Danny Boy?

Thanks for all your kind words.

I have to say I was surprised by the reaction of some people. I said what I did in jest, but obviously it was taken a bit more seriously by some!

For those who weren't there, I basically said that I asked Ian what the seating arrangements were - was it like last year where we are sat on the ground level, the players are on the balcony, and the directors etc are in front of the stage. Then I realised it didn't matter as we are all used to seeing the players out of position anyway.

Then I talked about the trophy being a fancy glass one, in a change to the usual cup or shield. I remarked that it was likely to break if it was dropped, so it's a good job it wasn't going to one of the keepers.

Then said about the winner Mickey Barron, and how he has had a massive influence over the last ten-odd years. It was nice to know he would be involved in the years to come, and that it would be great to see some more young lads in the first team, eh Danny?

I had not had a proper gauge for three months prior to last night, and I was on my 6th pint so was feeling a bit elated. I had plenty more afterwards and I don't feel so elated now. confised

If they're not keen on you presenting it next year let me know and I'll do it for you.

I heard it was Turner who was pissed off and DW + KH were chuckling.

I have gained more respect for them if they saw the funny side.

John please DO give up your day job.

I cried laughing last night and been chuckling about you up on that stage,I think sometimes we take things a wee bit too seriously and you just gave an alternative view on things(even if it did touch a raw nerve or two).

One or two others got their knickers in a twist a bit but it all added to a fantastic night. clappp clappp
