Anyone see tonights news about the plight of some ex servicemen living on the streets?

We've been banging on about this years (we being SAMA http://www.sama82.org.uk)

I know that sometimes I'm a bit of an Uncle Albert but this is a really serious issue. Mental health issues, suicide and homelessness is the lot of a ridiculously high percentage of ex soldiers sailors and airmen.

Agreed Mr I

It'smad, bizarre and unthinkable. Is it irony, apathy, ignorance or a sign of being in a 'nanny state' that at footy mathches people still sing

" Two World Wars and one World Cup Dooh Daah etc"
Despite there being more wars than you can shake a mauser at since then , how many would know where the Falklands was? (for instance).

My mate who now lives in Glos( cant spell gloucester...see) served in the falklands, the middle east, Ireland, croatia has been shot at, bombed at and spat at . Then the poor foooker comes home to 'Blighty' and gets shiit on

T o find that it has made a difference...but maybe not in this country.

What was it Winston Churchill said?...

"We will go thus far and no further!"

So how far do we have to go?

BTW, after working in security for tesco, mymate starting selling cars, all he was good for over here, not enough qualifications for the police force... stupid

Me too feller, it's what a lot of them need.
Seems they're being fussier these days though and you need to wait til convictions are spent for a year or more.

Another thing that boiled my piss this week was one of the reasons behind the possibility of building separate wards for soldiers injured in Iraq was because they have been on the end of verbal abuse in UK hospitals

For fecks sake, you may not agree with what is going on in Iraq, but why give grief to someone who is lying in an hospital bed?
