If it's supposed to be the best XI, shouldn't just about all of them be borers? sctatchinghead

I might not like the Piddlesbrough but I think there's a fair likelihood they'd beat us 9 times out of 10 (and darlo 11 times out of ten).

I think he has picked the side given their relative performances for their clubs this season, which you full well knew, I am sure.

Nonetheless, putting Pools and Darlo strikers in front of the likes of Alves is a big leap of faith.

Recently a listener asked me to pick my squad from the regions 3 sides based on performances this season, he set the rules with a minimum of 3 players from each side and no more than 5 from anyone club. Here's my choice with subs to boot. Should anyone have any other suggestions please let me know and we will cover your team on air.

Keeper David Stockdale ( Darlo)

Defence Luke Young ( Boro)

Steve Foster ( Darlo)

David Wheater ( Boro)

Ritchie Humphries ( Pools)

Midfield James Brown ( Pools)

Gary Liddle ( Pools)

George Boateng ( Boro)

Stewie Downing ( Boro)

Attack Tommy Wright ( Darlo)

Ritchie Barker ( Pools)

Subs Mani Pogatetz ( Boro)

Julian Joachim ( Darlo )

Andy Monkhouse ( Pools)

Mark Schwarzer ( Boro)

Jeremie Aliadiere ( Boro)
just to make a bit more sense out of it

Alves has only scored three goals. Barker has 13 and has created a far bigger impact than the Brazilian so far.

I see what you're getting at but who would you rather watch?

Anyway, now we have the rules in writing it makes it a bit easier to comment.
Or should I say, it would if I knew anything at all about the Darlo players and knew more than about four Borer players. confised

You make it sound like Alves is a good player - he is worth a maximum of two million. The borer certainly had their pants pulled down there :!:

I'll be surprised if he gets into double figures next season....

Loads of bollocks. Put Barker in the premier league and lets see how many he would score! I would much rather have Alves in our team.

Well, I was about to say scoring 3 for Piddlesbrough is quite a feat!
