That made me wonder how, in general, the players we have robbed from the Scottish league have done. I can't remember that many, but...

Shuggy: good value for money
Ross: could have been good if he'd been a proper man
Walker: the less said the better
McCann: who on earth knows?
McCunnie: jury still out

Any other names?

They don't seem to have done better or worse that players from other sources.

I think Tommy McGuigan came from Ayr United..............he was one of the best players ever to wear a Pools shirt.
This Ryan Stevenson is on a part time contract with Ayr and has just been voted their player of the year. He was on Chelsea's books as a kid.

I don't think the jocks can handle the Hartlepool climate - positively tropical innit

Having looked him up on soccerbase he may well be a reasonable signing. 17 goals this season, 15 in 33 league games, regardless of the standard that not bad going from a player described as a midfielder.

Madjohn you've saved me a job.

I've just come back from Maiden Castle (five-a-side, lost 2-0, can't win the league now, but that's another story) where I was stood next to Godwin Anti and a fair haired lad with a Scottish accent. He's here for another couple of days before he goes off to Holland (something about 17 days, not sure if it was holiday or football related). Was telling Godwin that his season has finished now etc etc.

Took a good look at him so I could come back and see if I could work out who it was, and the answer is.....

All I can say is no matter whether he is any good or not, it's nice to see us not dragging our heels.
Unless of course he was only on a social visit. confised

Well he had a bag with him that was big enough to carry the contents of a small wardrobe, so he's definitely been training and staying somewhere in the area.
