Was the best Pools player on the pitch today in my opinion. Maybe a central midfield role beckons for him next season

you could play that lad anywhere on the pitch and he always gives 110%, best player we have got

i thouught Ben did ok as well, I'd sooner Ben played in the centre of midfield than Sweeney, but I don't think Sweens has done too badly at right back, some of his passing is still sloppy at times but I much prefer it when he is playing there than in the midfield centre......

In a previous post by myself, I advocated the exact same, Clark to replace Boland next season as holding centre midfielder

Of course. Play a central defender as a midfielder. And what do you get? An effective stopper, but a lack of pace and creativity in midfield. Like happened yesterday. Tell you what. Why don't we try playing the left back as a midfielder? Actually, that's what he is. I agree that Boland is past it. But Ritchie should be the first choice for midfield not the last. You are as muddled as Danny Wilson.

Rio Ferdinand started as a striker for QPR. So what? We're talking about here and now. Ben Clark is a worthy defender. But he is too slow and defensive and negative in midfield. He is not the solution, just as McCunnie as a great midfielder is fantasy land. The best midfielder we still have is Ritchie Humphreys.

Humphreys is certainly not a left back and it is grossly unfair to put him there, simply because the club won't sign one. We haven't had a specialist left back since Hugh left. That was two years ago.

i think its funny how these things work. There are players the fans dislike, like
Foley, Barker etc and they get absolutely slated and every little mistake gets magnified 10 fold.

then theres the likes of Clark who i though was very average, yet because people love him, he gets praised like he was by far the best player on the pitch sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

I remember clark making several wayward passes and being slightly off the pace at times

i also remember one great run by foley where he took 2 people on and their defender made an outstanding tackle, foley did nowt wrong and he got butchered, absolutely slated, for no reason whatsoever.

i'm not saying foley is good enough, i'm just stating that people will see what they want to see

Bollox

Ben Clark is a professional who CAN tackle, CAN run, CAN head the ball, etc etc etc

'Folly' isnt a professional, he's a 'canny lad' no doubt, but he is fucking rubbish week in week out and if the likes of Porter and Monkey are allowed to walk away from this club and he stays it shows what an A! bounder Wilson is

When Liddle started out he used to be more attacking. Ever since Boland came in he seemed to drop deeper and deeper and now he only seems to pass it sideways or backwards.

I apologise.

But if you're not Wilson then you must be Mr Foley snr.

Is your lad taller than you?
