Try the Blue Room at Durham Gala on Monday nights....they're having a long season of foreign films, not necessarily new releases but all good. I agree, Mutley, most of the films I ever want to see don't go on general release at all.

By the way, Mr Madjohn, thanks for the info re del Toro. Have just ordered both El Espinazo del Diablo and Pan's Labyrinth for the grand sum of £10.96 the pair

When we had The Odeon, The Forum, The Regal/Essoldo, The Lex, The Northerns, The West End, The Gaumont, The Gaiety, The Queens and the Palladium we wouldn't have had those problems.
One had to share one's seat with a myriad of fleas in a couple of those places mind you. :uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh:
Great days eh !!!!!!?????? sctatchinghead sctatchinghead

I cant understand a fooookin word they are saying. And if I wanted to read the translation at the bottom of the screen I would rather read the fooookin book.

Wilson out. The bounder cant even get this right.

Well, I can't understand a foo.....erm... a word people in Hollywood films are saying. They mumble and use incomprehensible American slang

99.9% of fillums are total gash.

Especially foreign ones, be they frog, nazi, eyetie, yank, gook or whatever.

Thanks for the tip, looks promising. I also notice that they're showing Odd Man Out next month. I own it on DVD but it would be good to see that on a big screen.

Well, you need to book in advance, MJ, because it's a smallish studio and it's always full on the night

And by the time you've read the translation, you've missed all the gash and stuff.

Not a problem, he goes off while the opening titles are on....

I was looking forward to seeing In Bruges when I'm home on leave! I used to live there for a few years, they started to film the fillum just as I left!

As for talk of foreign films...I think you'll find it's a British fillum, that just happens to be set in Belgium!

See the link...

http://www.britfilms.com/britishfilms/catalogue/browse/?id=519D1B8F0f557192DByXr1E0E691

A few months back Vue cinemas ran some old fillums, I got to see The Dambusters on the big screen for the first time. Multiplexes always have a few screens going spare, so how about freeing them up to show some classic fillums in their full glory.
