... an afternoon, if that's in indicator of next season, you'd be advised to forget about buying a season ticket and pick n mix your games. A thoroughly, boring, miserable, gutless, couldn't be arsed affair, why didn't they just flag us down as we left the house, dress up as highwaymen and demand our money? At least it would have saved the petrol and we could have kept warm at home
Elliot...? I'm not even going to dignify that selection with going any further. We have Wilson talking up Robson and Foley, ....new contracts? ...surely not? sadx .
I look forward to a new season with anticipation, but not this one. The peach that sums up this season of 'toeing the party line', is in the Mail last night, which I quote....Pools take on Millwall today knowing that the top six will probably be beyond them by the end of the day. ....you've gorra laugh

The only good thing about yesterday afternoon, was that I didn't pay to watch that garbage.

For the first time in my life I've become more and more apathetic this season. Only twice have I driven up to Hartlepool specifically for a game and even the away games have dwindled to next to nothing for the second half of the season. This is pretty much unprecedented for me over recent years, I've become very cynical about a lot of the players and fail to see why I should add my dosh to the money most of them have been taking under false pretences this year. I make no bones about believing Humphreys to be vastly over rated but he seems to be one of the very few putting the effort in.

I don't particularly see it changing either, over the past couple of months not only have I not attended the games, I've not even bothered with Poolsworld unless I had nothing better to do.

I don't think its because I've lost interest in Pools as an entity, I think its down to the fact that this group of players are better than their league position and performances. Yes Wilson has a fair slice of responsibility but so do the players, if they can't be bothered giving 100% for the good money they're getting then I fail to see why I should pay for the privilege of watching them skive.

I'm hoping for a mass clearout in the summer but I fear for what might be brought in.

I agree totally with what you say Mr I, for the first time i can remember i have no feelings for Pools win lose or draw at the moment. You read wilson saying how the players are not giving up on the season and have a responsibility to the fans who turn up home and away to be committed. Then after the match that what you see is not acceptable. WELL MR WILSON THE WHOLE SEASON HAS NOT BEEN ACCEPTABLE.
Will I renew my season ticket- probably- but not tor any belief in the manager and players but my love for my football team.

I am in no way criticising you as I understand completely what you're saying but this is the attitude that allows the mercenaries in football to get richer every week regardless of end product.

Regarding the players, Wilson is paid to 'manage' them ...if he can't control their actions or motivate them, get someone in who can. There was always a teacher who was good at his subject but couldn't control the class, if you follow my thoughts.

Once the players are on the pitch, it is up to them how they perform or not perform, not Danny Wilsons. What I witnessed yesterday was a group of 'Professionals' performing very badly. i.e. not being able to string 2 passes together, unable to pass the ball without putting the player receiving under pressure, controlling the ball, come 2nd for every 50/50 and totally showing a lack of interest. The majority of the players who were here before the manager arrived are just as guilty as the rest. The 'lads for the future' Robson, Foley and Sweeney are just not good enough for this league, thay have all been around for how long, 4 / 5 years, they have had long enough. Consistency is what is required. in my view consistency is about putting in performances week in week out, unfortunately there are far more bad performances than good, therefore they have found their levels which are consistant, but bad. The odd good performances are just one offs and does not mean they are going to eventually make a quality player. Only my Opinion though!!!!
As for not renewing my season ticket? I have been going to the Vic since 1960 and have witnessed some really awful football and end of season run-ins, but football is about supporting your local team, good or bad, despite the fact they may not be involved in nail biting end of seasons.
Yes, I will renew my ticket once again, Pools a waste of tme - NEVER!!!!

He's had all season to prove his worth, I feel it's past final chances.

In every walk of life, if the workforce don't perform, they either get rid of the management or the workforce. To presume that once they go out on the pitch the manager is absolved of all responsibility is misplaced, as it indicates weak management skills. Some managers give instructions and they are followed, either through good team spirit or 'fear' of the manager. It aint rocket science.

I've thought for some time that we need a Capello type disciplinarian. There's too much good 'ol boys going on as far as I can see. If Wilson isn't tough enough then we should bring one in to replace him or work alongside him. Gunnery Sgt Hartman's my suggestion.

is it only me who gets the impression Wilson is just waiting around for the next better job offer? He's also not in a position to make any players who sign for HUFC move to the area, is he?

A momentary lapse of reason....

Careful with that Axe Ken, but these are not the happiest days of our lives. So don't treat us like Sheep, tell Danny he can ride your Bike if you like so long as he doesn't waste our Time.

Or killing time til his contract expires cos he's been told that it won't be renewed?

Wilson is the first manager that Pools have had on a "proper football contract" and not an IOR "rolling contract".

The word on the street is that it expires on 30 June and he aint staying. I hope that it's true, but I also fear that if it is true then we'll end up getting a new bloke in a fortnight before the season starts.

It may actually hep the players if the manager showed a bit of consistency in his team selections

Agreed - also why does he insist on changing formation every time the wind changes (and the wind changes a lot round here  )?

4-3-2-1 - wtf are we playing that for at home against Millwall? One up front against a struggling side - we should have taken the game to them like we are capable of. What was up with playing 4-4-2 and having Monkey and Browny also attacking from the wings?

He changes things when he doesn't need to and fixes things when they ain't broken refred

Is it nearly 30 June yet?
