The Reserves won 4-0 at Oakwell tonight to go top of the league, another 3 for Tymon.
But young Jonny Rowell was stretchered off needing stitches in a injury below his knee.

Unbelievable. Surely he must be nearing or have already passed some kind of record. And against comptition like James Brown and Michael Rae to boot!

Rowell has only cut his knee but it's a shame as we may have got a glimpse before the end of season, he's only 17 though so he has plenty of time and on the other hand it could mean Tymon is on the bench on Saturday the boy deserves it, he's outscoring Mackay at the moment.

These two seem really exciting prospects you only have to look at the impact they have already made at reserve team level.

According Mr Mad Johns site that is 36 goals in 27 starts for the reserve and youth teams this season

Didn't we used to have some kid called Dunwell or something when Turner was gaffer. He scored for fun but got released without a first team game and never heard of him again.
Don't just go by scoring records, if his all round game is good he'll get a chance.

I'm told by those who know that his raw talent is on the Adam Boyd/James Brown level or better.

If we applied that logic, we'd never have seen a few great forwards, Jimmy Greaves comes to mind. It's just my opinion, but if a forward scores goals and entertains to boot, he's done his job. The games full of so called strikers who bang in an average number of goals and run round like blue arsed flies, to keep the 'work rate' obsessed coaches happy.

precisely. I often wonder at the condescending attitude of some coaches/managers who believe we mere fans can't have a valid opinion on things like this. Thankfully there are managers/coaches out there who still recognise that football is an entertainment sport for spectators.
Who did you enjoy watching play for Pools? Michael Proctor or Adam Boyd?
Unfortunately, "qualified" football man Martin Scott preferred Proctor. stpid stpid
