I wrote an article about this the other day. Could the powers that be just track their IP number and be done with it? If paedophiles are that desperate to get an underage partner, they'll get another account. I really, REALLY hope the Government is just pretending we're idiots again and actually mean IP addresses, otherwise it'll be fruitless.

The sad fact is that nothing will stop paedophiles, or at least for everyone you stop another will pop out of the woodwork. But Governments can't admit that sort of thing so they have to be seen to be 'doing something about it'.

And much child abuse happens within families, so IP addresses are a total irrelevance there

They use the internet as a scapegoat because it's something they know they cannot control.

What they can control is their social services that we pay for and are seriously failing kids and adults alike. If they keep this out of the public eye with maverick stories of banning peoples email addresses then it's all good for them.

The sooner they foook off with spending money on stationery and putting more into social care, the better the system will be.

I do appreciate that life seems terribly serious from University but it really does peter out later in life when you realise that you've been lied to.

I know that at 21 I'm hardly gonna be listened to anyway, but I'm not a typical student. I've worked hard to get where I am. It's like age turns you into a moral and inexperienced cripple

Now you see, that's putting words in my mouth. Only you say that I know more about Pools etc etc etc. I do know that I've supported Pools for more years than you've been alive which might give me a different viewpoint but it doesn't mean it's more or less valid.

There's dozens of degrees floating about on here, none of which came particularly easy to anyone. Good luck with yours. There's lot more to learning than going to Uni though. Really you learn little until you leave and you get into reality instead of ideology.

Some people can command a fine salary from a sinecure job, which is obviously utopia, and lets you fanny about with things like this. Doesn't mean that your quality of life is better or worse. You're trying to pigeonhole people which never works. That shows in your words 'typical student.' What IS a typical student? Governments do that and it pisses people off. It'll piss you off sooner or later.

I worked long summers and winters at the likes of TMD, the council and Cameron's doing basic manual labour. Granted, not full contractual, but I know what it's like to be bottom of the pile. Nowt wrong with having aspirations though, and believe me I'm pretty realistic given my line of work is one of the lowest paid for a starter.

There isn't such thing as a typical student any more, which is my point. Everyone does higher education one way or another these days. Experience is usually better than Uni anyway, but that was my choice. I liked the idea of living away for three years - best three years I'll ever had. Just jealous.

I completely agree Kev. I can't profess to knowledge I don't have but I try my best with what I've got. I'm also happy to back down when I'm wrong, which is always a good quality to have.
