Visit Hull and look for yourself.

Its a million times better than Hartlepool where i live no doubt about it. (not a million really, a lot better though)

Right,

When did you move away?

Brandsholme is currently getting redeveloped and orchard park is a no go place for me, and i dont live anywhere near it. I live on the dock so im kind of blinkered from the bad parts i guess.

It's about 8 or 9 years since I lived there. Their Marina was nice then and there are some nice places to live down there don't get me wrong. Out Hessle way is very nice too.

Don't get me wrong, I liked Hull. All I am saying is that, like Hartlepool, it has its nice and not so nice places- places you would want to go to and places that you wouldn't. But in my experience their "not so nice" places were much worse than ours, Orchard Park being a prime example.

And similarly to Hartlepool you could guarantee to see several barnies on a night out. Is the Hull Cheese still open?

With regards to shopping then yes they are light years ahead of us in that regard. Princes Quay was the place when I lived there, but the company I used to work for have just built a great big new shopping centre next to the station too so it's probably got even better since. But geographically they have a much larger catchment area than Hartlepool, people will travel into Hull to shop in the same way that we would go to Newcastle or the Metro, so they are bound to be able to attract bigger and better shops purely from an economic point of view.

The people who i work with have family in brandsholme and they reckon its nice.

I suppose that depends on your definition of "nice". I know people who think that the Central is nice. rolfl

You see that's where it becomes subjective based upon people's personal experiences.

I lived around Beverley Road, Newland Avenue area when I was down there. It wasn't the worst place in the world but where I live in Hartlepool IS a million times better without exaggerating.

Had I lived in Hessle and then moved to Owton Manor I would think the opposite.

Aye, St Stephens has been built and is very nice with some quality shops in there.
Pricess Quay is still going strong too.

There is bad your right, you know. but overall it is a better, friendlier and cleaner than Hartlepool. I've only heard bad things about Orchard Park but as i say, i dont need to go that way so i dont really know much about it.

That place isnt open i dont think.

New town is terrible for fighting im led to beleive. i only go out in Old Town which is a top night out!

And you lot said my Darlow/THAT penalty thread was boring! If I had a can of petrol I'd set fire to myself after reading through all this dross. And it's spelt Westgate! And it's not closing!
